Having no business charm, Hoang Hai switched to driving a long-distance car, then driving a tourist car. During this time, he and his family also moved to Da Nang, the original hometown of his father, to live.

In 2004, Hoang Hai re-appeared to the small screen through the role of Hai in the movie Road of Life. The male artist confided that he initially accepted the role of Hai to satisfy his nostalgia for his job, telling himself that after the filming ended, he would return to driving.

But then after the success of "The Way of Life", Hoang Hai continuously received invitations to act in movies. Just like that, he was swept away and couldn't stop his predestined relationship with acting.

The criminal police star shared: "A career as an actor attracts me not because of fame or money, but because I can live many different lives. No matter what role I play, good or bad, rich or poor, I can still live. Therefore, no matter what I do, I still return to being an actor. This profession is a real career," said Meritorious Artist Hoang Hai.

In middle age, artist Hoang Hai is still devoted to his roles. Although he is busy with his own business, he still participates in an average of one film a year. The actor appeared in a series of cult films such as Reverse of Tears, Escape from Youth, Labyrinth of Crocodile Profile, Mirror Mask... In the film, he plays Luu - a single father who works as a porter at the market.
