After his days on the battlefield, Trung Duc was trained at the Hanoi Conservatory of Music (now the Vietnam National Academy of Music). After graduating from school, he went to work at Thang Long Music and Dance Theater, then transferred to Vietnam National Opera and Dance.

The Trung Duc artist said that he did not know how to sing folk songs before. When he returned to work at the Vietnam National Opera and Dance, he had the opportunity to meet People's Representative Thu Hien and was taught to sing by colleagues.

In addition to singing, Trung Duc artist is also the author of some very famous folk songs such as Remember the Lim Society, I go to Huong Pagoda, Chan Que ... For his many contributions to the country's arts, he was awarded the title of People's Artist in 2007.

A quiet but fulfilling life at the age of 71

In his youth, because of his talent and fame, he was handsome, so the Chinese People's Party was admired by a large number of female audiences. For decades, the Chinese artist had been faithful to only one wife. Talking about his wife, he said the two knew each other through a friend. After many years of marriage, the artist and his wife Trung Duc have 4 children, 3 boys and 1 girl. His family currently lives in Ha Dong, Hanoi. The male artist is very satisfied with his current life.

Sharing the secret, he said it is important to practice regularly. "I sing for at least 2 hours every day," Changshandong-Changshan Xi singer revealed.

Currently, in addition to his pension, the Chinese artist still works hard to sing, living on his own income, not wanting to bother his children and grandchildren. Besides, he taught free singing to his students.

"I have 4 children, 3 boys and 1 girl. I am very satisfied with my life now. Although my children and grandchildren also gave gifts of cake, in addition to my pension, I also earned a gig. In general, I live happily, living comfortably from the money I earn, not bothering with my children and grandchildren. Every day I get up at 4 a.m. and 6 a.m. to have breakfast and coffee with friends," he said.

In the old days, when he drove in Thai Nguyen to class, he had to buy a makeshift bread, so he could not afford to pay tuition fees. When he entered the class he asked where the tuition money was, he said he ate bread so he lacked money for school, and was kicked out of the class. Later, the artist Trung Duc was accepted as a student by the People's Committee of Trung Kien. From there, he told himself that if he became talented and went to teach, he would never take money from students.

"Each teacher has a different purpose in life, I live by innocence. I love my students so much because I think of me in the past. I came from a soldier driving a car, it was very hard at that time because I saw firsthand the fierceness of war, the heroism of revolutionary soldiers. I was an only child but volunteered to join the army. After going directly to the battlefield, I trained at the Hanoi Conservatory of Music (Vietnam National Academy of Music).

That day was very hungry, I drove back from Thai Nguyen to buy temporary bread and go to school, so I could not afford to pay the tuition fee. In class he asked where the tuition money was, I said that I ate bread so I lacked money for school, I was kicked out of the class. Although I missed school, about 20 days after I had enough money, I still brought back the lessons I had taken.

When I was expelled from school, Mr. Trung Kien accepted to teach me immediately. And from there, I told myself that if I had talent later, teaching would never take money from students. Unless teaching at school is a rule that students must follow, and studying privately I never take money. The teacher who kicked me out of class later, when I became famous, shared that he regretted it," he said.
