People's Artist Kim Cuong's full name is Nguyen Thi Kim Cuong, born in 1937 in Saigon in a well-behaved family with a rich artistic tradition.

Her mother is People's Artist Bay Nam - who is known as the "living founder" of Southern Cai Luong theater (along with People's Artist Phung Ha). Her father is the owner of Dai Phuoc Cuong troupe, one of the most powerful owners of Cai Luong theater. She is also the granddaughter of King Thanh Thai.

People's Artist Kim Cuong's great-grandmother and paternal grandmother were also troupe directors. On her mother's side, there were 11 uncles and aunts, of which 4 were famous artists in the cai luong world: Nam Phi, Bay Nam, Chin Bia, Muoi Truyen.

That is why People's Artist Kim Cuong was introduced to the stage at a very early age. Accordingly, when she was only 18 days old, she was carried onto the stage to play the role of Thi Mau's daughter. She lived with the troupe from a young age until she was old enough to walk and was taken onto the stage to play the role of the daughter. In 2012, the female artist organized the show "Thank You Life" to express gratitude and say goodbye to the audience. After that, although she no longer performs as before, the female artist actively promotes stage drama and reformed opera to many audiences as well as the younger generation.
