Van Dungâs biological mother was artist Vu Bich Lien of the Northwest Dance Troupe. Later, the beautiful dancer moved to Military Region I with her husband. Both of them went through difficult times, but when they got old, their children became successful.
Recently, on her personal page, artist Van Dung shared an old family photo. In the photo, the artist and her sister were only 3-4 years old at that time. Along with the photo, Van Dung sobbed and recalled the old days: "Hanoi in 1978, when time was slow and everything was simple. Looking back at the family photo, I feel nostalgic about the old days."
In the photo, Van Trang - Van Dung had a pretty, lovely appearance when they were young. Meanwhile, Van Dung's father had the appearance of an actor, with long hair, a resolute face, a gentle smile and warm eyes. He wore a shirt, trousers, and leather shoes very neatly. The artist's mother had a kind face with sparkling black eyes, exuding gentleness and traditional beauty. She dressed simply, with long, silky black hair down to her waist, a gentle, feminine beauty.
It is known that Van Dung's biological mother is artist Bich Lien, who used to be a beautiful dancer of the Tay Bac song and dance troupe, then transferred to Military Region 1 with her husband, director Le Cong Lac.
When she was young, Van Dung lived with her parents in Thai Nguyen. When she was 3-4 years old, she liked to act out plays with her older sister Van Trang, sometimes pretending to be a princess, sometimes transforming into a magical fairy.
In second grade, Van Dung's family moved to Hanoi. Van Dung cried like rain because she had to leave her friends and her hometown, but later she had to thank her mother: "This was a right decision of my mother. Because if it weren't for that day, I wouldn't have been able to study fully and mature like today. Maybe now I'm herding buffaloes and cutting grass or going to the forest to collect firewood. I always thank my mother for this decision."
At first, all four of them lived at their grandparents' house in Quan Thanh, but it was too crowded, so when Van Dung was 10 years old, her parents decided to move to a small house in Hoang Cau - which is also where Van Dung lives now. At that time, her house was only 6 square meters wide, with only a 1.6 meter bed, a study table, a kerosene stove, a pot, a pan and a bicycle. Every time it rained, the house was flooded, pots and pans were floating around.
At that time, Van Dung's biological mother still had to work, so her two daughters learned to do housework early. At that time, Van Dung had to carry up to twenty buckets of water every day for the whole family's daily needs. The water was not carried in small plastic buckets, but in large metal buckets. At the ag.e of 10, Van Dung knew how to cook, sweep, and clean the house like an adult.
Living in such conditions, the female comedian does not think her family is poor. She revealed: "My parents work in the army so they get distributed milk. I think that makes them happier and more fortunate than many people."
Van Dung and her older sister Van Trang inherited many beautiful features from their parents. Later, at the ag.e of 17-18, the two sisters took each other to register for the Miss Vietnam contest. Van Dung's older sister is 1m72 tall, while she is 1m67 tall. They only competed with their older sister for fun, but unexpectedly the actress made it into the Top 15, while Van Trang went straight into the Top 10.
