"The friendship between me and Nhu Quynh started a long time ago. When we were young, we lived together at the House of Culture, but mostly I stayed at Nhu Quynh's house.

Nhu Quynh is very poor, and yet she suffers from a disease, which is rheumatism.

I still vividly remember Nhu Quynh's house that day in the ammunition depot, even entering without paving bricks, not even cementing, only the ground. The only property in Nhu Quynh's house is a wild papaya tree.

Nhu Quynh only has a white school uniform and a blue pleated skirt to wear. Nhu Quynh goes everywhere wearing only that dress, from going to school to going out, to singing.

I don't even know what kind of clothes Nhu Quynh did at that time to have a dress to wear continuously like that.

Children at that time often had a kind of discrimination against the poor, who were poor, no one played. I'm not much richer than Nhu Quynh, but I'd call it a bit better. Only I play with Nhu Quynh. We have been playing together since we were 8 years old.
