Some people lying and sitting in the pit spoke with northern accents. When asked about the above action, they said they were lying in sand meditation and bathing in the sand.

In a large group of tourists, one person meditates facing the sea, another uses a shovel to dig more sand holes and lie down.

"Meditation in the sand like this is very pleasant, cool. It is very wonderful and exciting," explained one tourist.

Many people who witnessed the incident recorded the video and posted it on social networks. The clip then created much controversy. Most people think that the actions of a group of people lying in a sandpit by the beach will be as misleading as the custom of burying the dead. They are also worried that digging the beach will lose the landscape, affecting Cua Lo beach tourism.

Talking to Zing, Mr. Hoang Thanh Son, Head of Culture Department of Cua Lo town, said the incident happened on August 20. A group of tourists in some northern provinces come to the beach in Nghi Thuy ward (Cua Lo town) to have fun. This group then digs a hole and acts like the clip posted.

"The area where the incident happened is outside the Cua Lo beach resort, so when grasping, Nghi Thuy ward officials asked the group of tourists to return the ground, no action as above," Mr. Son said.

The leader of Nghi Thuy ward (Cua Lo town), said that a group of about 30 people of all ages meditated under pre-dug sand pits and then filled them up, except for the nose to breathe.

"The ward reminded and asked the group of tourists not to act like this. The group then apologized and returned the beach before leaving," the local leader informed.
