As the case progresses, the court will allow both parties to exchange evidence to prove their side of the story (usually videos, testimonies, statements, prescriptions, medical bills, etc.) or evidence to exonerate themselves (for the defendant).

"During this exchange, the two sides will understand each other better to lead to a peaceful reconciliation. In the US, the trend of the courts is to want lawsuits to be resolved peacefully, without the need for a trial to reduce the time and effort of the court..." - the lawyer shared.

Regarding the opinions that singer Dam Vinh Hung and singer Bich Tuyen and her husband "made up a script" to get insurance money, the lawyer did not comment because "this information is just a rumor and is not authentic".

Up to now, the plaintiff and the defendant have not yet reached a consensus. According to lawyer Nguyen Thanh Ha, Chairman of SBLAW, Hanoi Bar Association, after consulting with a fellow lawyer in the US, said that the plaintiff - singer Dam Vinh Hung has a very high chance of winning the case.

Mr. Ha said that, under common law, anyone has a "duty of care" towards others and also a "duty of warning" about possible dangers.

Meanwhile, Dam Vinh Hung was invited to Mr. Williams’s home as a guest, so Mr. Williams had a higher duty to ensure the safety of his guests. This included maintaining the property in a safe condition, checking it regularly, and warning guests of any dangers that Mr. Williams knew or should have known. Mr. Williams appeared to have breached these duties.
