It can be seen that after the Miss Universe organizers issued an official announcement allowing married, childbearing and transgender contestants to compete, many countries have boldly chosen transgender representatives to compete.

However, the participation of transgender people in pageants by ordinary women is still a controversial issue in the world. While many countries are open to transgender people, many beauty pageants still have "no-door" rules for them.

Typically, on July 24, the Miss Italy organization announced the regulations of this year's pageant. Accordingly, the organizers confirmed that the contest will not welcome transgender contestants to apply. Pageant spokeswoman Patrizia Mirigliani said only contestants who were "women from birth" were allowed to compete in Miss Italy.

Patrizia expressed the opinion that beauty pageants that accept transgender contestants are in fact just a ploy to "burnish" their names to attract media attention.

"Lately beauty pageants are gaining media attention using strategies that I think are ridiculous. The Miss Italy pageant won't make headlines that way.

As long as I run the Miss Italy pageant, only biologically correct women can participate, not those who identify themselves as women," Patrizia said.

Not only Patrizia, Lupita Jones – who is considered the powerful woman behind the success of the beauty world in Mexico and is currently the national director of Mexicana Universal, has also flatly refused transgender contestants to compete.
