After the incident, MGI immediately announced that Cambodia would no longer be the host country of this year's contest. MGI stated on Instagram: "We regret to announce that Cambodia will no longer be the host country for Miss Grand International 2024, due to this unit's inability to provide services that meet our standards." In addition, MGI said that the contest will continue with activities in Thailand from October 7.
