Miss Cosmo Vietnam firmly asserts that it is not copied, is unique, "confronting" Nawat

On the afternoon of March 19, Miss Cosmo Vietnam 2025 officially held a press conference to launch the new season. At the event, the organizers of Miss Cosmo Vietnam and Miss Cosmo received questions about the contest being criticized by Mr. Nawat as copying the spirit of Miss Universe.

Responding to this issue, Mr. Tran Viet Bao Hoang - CEO of Miss Cosmo affirmed: "There can be no copying. It's like when you open a fast food restaurant, the next day someone opens a bird's nest shop, that cannot be called copying. This is a fair playground, any unit has the right to organize its own contest. The important thing is when you create different values, gain the support of the audience and related parties. If a contest has enough influence on the market, your brand will automatically have a place."

Mr. Tran Viet Bao Hoang also emphasized that the goal of Miss Cosmo is not to become the number one beauty contest according to international experts, but to win the number one position in the hearts of the audience.

Recently, Mr. Nawat Itsaragrisil - the copyright holder of Miss Universe Thailand - has made many controversial statements. He publicly mentioned Miss Cosmo and Paula Shugart (former Miss Universe president), implying that Vietnam's international beauty pageant is deliberately copying Miss Universe. These statements have caused outrage in the fan community, leading to a wave of negative reactions and significant turn away.

At the press conference, the organizers announced that the final night of Miss Cosmo Vietnam 2025 will take place in Nha Trang, with the theme "Shoo.t for the Moon". The sub-contests and the journey to find the new beauty queen will be held in five major provinces and cities: Lam Dong, Long An, Bac Lieu, Ho Chi Minh City and Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa.

The winner will receive a cash prize of 300 million VND and represent Vietnam at the next Miss Cosmo season in the international arena.

For the first time, the management and development rights of the Miss Universe Vietnam - Miss Cosmo Vietnam contest are exclusively granted to the Provincial/City Directors. This is an important step, affirming the commitment to expand the scale and enhance the position of Miss Cosmo across the country. The Provincial/City Directors will play a key role in expanding the scale and strengthening the prestige of the Miss Universe Vietnam - Miss Cosmo Vietnam contest in the localities.

In particular, the first 10 provincial/municipal Directors will receive comprehensive and in-depth support from Cosmo Academy in organizing provincial competitions.
