Leaving the prison, the 63-year-old woman held a shopping bag, wore a mask, and avoided reporters' cameras. Ms. Ly Thuy Huong (the victim's ex-mother-in-law) was charged with obstructing public officials on duty because of suspicion of erasing evidence. Other bail conditions include not leaving Hong Kong (China), living at the declared address, and reporting to the police 3 times a week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The case has been transferred to the District Court and will be heard again on June 6. Charges such as murder and preventing a lawful burial were decided by the court one year and three months after the incident. The entire case is still pending.

The case of Thai Thien Phuong's murder and dismemberment shocked Hong Kong (China) at the end of February 2024. The female model passed away at the age of 27.
