Lynx: opening the horror series to 2030, Thuy Tien said 1 sentence

Linh Miao: The Devil Enters the Chamber has not yet been screened, but producer Vo Thanh Hoa has introduced 14 film projects in the series inspired by folk horror from here until 2030.

On the evening of October 30, in Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh City held a showcase of the movie Linh Miao: The Devil Enters the Intestines. Director Luu Thanh Luan, producers Vo Thanh Hoa, Mai Bao Ngoc, Ho Xuan Phu and the cast answered many questions related to the film and each person.

At the event, the film crew recreated the old Hue space with decoration in the style of the Hue royal court, the most prominent of which was the dance performance of the Lu dance to offer lanterns and recreate the ceremony of the palanquin procession to the teacher.

Lynx was inspired by the folk legend of the "devil entering the intestines" to build a plot revolving around a family working as a potter in Hue. According to oral stories surrounding the phenomenon of demons entering the intestines, lynxes are black cats, with a tip of hair in the middle of their forehead that resembles a third eye to help see supernatural forces.

If the lynx jumps over the body of the deceased person who is shrouding in the house, the dead person will slowly sit up and become a demon in the intestines.

Director Luu Thanh Luan revealed that during about a month of filming in Hue under the scorching hot weather, the film crew had up to 400 members and recorded a total of 360 hours. The crew staged 16 sets of filming with a budget of up to billions of VND. In particular, the main house of the Duong Phuc family was almost completely rebuilt from an abandoned house, in order to create a context suitable for the content of the film.

Talking about the current filmmaking trend, producer Vo Thanh Hoa shared: "Vietnamese audiences are increasingly accepting the horror genre, but there are also many loss-making projects. Therefore, from Devil Crane to Lynx, we all invested as much as possible in the setting, CGI, script, characters... to do better and better."

According to producer Vo Thanh Hoa, learning from the experience of the Crane Devil who has encountered many criticisms about technique, this time Lynx has about 600 scenes shot using CGI (image simulation) technology. Recently, a horror film that has just been announced is also called Demon Enters the Intestine - the next project made by AMF - the unit that once produced Ma Da.

Vo Thanh Hoa said: "I'm not afraid of any comparison between the two films. Since this is the culture of the Vietnamese people and the incarnation is a strange part of it, this topic is not mine or anyone else's."

Film producer Bao Ngoc shared: "We never intended to become any force, because everyone sitting here is passionate about filmmaking. With the weird genre, this is how I choose to tell stories to bring Vietnam's social culture closer to the audience."

Regarding the budget, producer Ho Xuan Phu revealed that the investment cost was higher than the Devil Crane, but did not say specifically.

Besides, the role of Phuong - Duong Phuc's servant is the first film role of Miss Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien, she said: "The reason I chose this character is because the script and the diversity in psychology of this character give me many opportunities to show my acting ability."

In addition, at the event, Hong Dao received many questions about cooperating with the all-young crew, from the director to the actors in the film. The female artist said that working with young people, she learned a lot of things such as enthusiasm, creativity, especially listening.

Particularly about Thuy Tien, the female artist commented that Miss International Peace 2021 is a smart person who always makes an effort. Hong Dao was surprised by Thuy Tien's ability to speak Hue even though she couldn't speak it before.

Hong Dao further revealed: "Thuy Tien is also a person who is not afraid of difficulties, is very determined to do anything and wants to bring the best without being afraid to go back and forth many times. If this is Thuy Tien's first film, I think you have a great potential for acting."

In response to the senior's compliment, Thuy Tien also "shot" a Hue line on stage and received a warm response from the guests.
