According to training expert Phuc Nguyen, who has many years of experience in beauty contests, the criteria for selecting a beauty queen can be based on two factors: necessary and sufficient. In terms of education, "sufficient" means that beauty contestants only need to graduate from high school to be eligible. "Need" means that the Organizing Committee has more expectations and contestants with outstanding academic backgrounds will receive more attention.

He added: "But for international beauty contests, before the Organizing Committee looks at the contestants' educational level, they often pay attention to their foreign language skills first. Because contestants with foreign languages have more opportunities to express themselves, communicate confidently, and convey messages to the contest."

Expert Phuc Nguyen said that the criteria for selecting a beauty queen in a contest include many factors, from beauty, education, foreign language skills to performance skills. And education is just one of the criteria that helps contestants gain extra points in the contest.

"Miss Universe Vietnam is not essentially a competition of academic qualifications, so candidates with a master's degree are not necessarily selected. However, if a candidate has a master's degree, it will be a plus point in the eyes of the judges.

For example, that contest has 10 criteria. And if you have a good education level, you will get extra points. I think, education level does not determine the result but it is one of the important factors in beauty contests," the expert commented.
