Huu Quoc was born in 1966 right in the middle of Saigon - the land of convergence of almost all famous Cai Luong troupes and stars, so Huu Quoc loves Cai Luong as a matter of course. At the age of 7-8, he knew how to wait to release the rig to see the "tiger", then at the age of 9 he just took paper collage to make hats, props, lit candles, sang and performed by himself. Seeing this, her mother sent Huu Quoc to study singing with teacher Ut Trong, a famous classical musician at that time. Indeed, Mr. Ut Trong's "kiln" has trained countless talents, including Huu Quoc, with a sweet voice and very timely rhythm.

When Huu Quoc was 13 years old, Tran Huu Trang Theater recruited students, he secretly took the exam. The 3-year training course, recruiting from 1,000 students, only took 40 students officially and 20 students auditioned, but Huu Quoc officially passed. On the day of admission, suddenly the whole family did not let him go, even teachers and friends also dissuaded him, because Huu Quoc was studying in a specialized literature class, carefully recruited from good students of many schools and roads. The university looks promising. But the 13-year-old boy strongly defended his dream with a firm statement: "Don't worry, I will be responsible for my life". And the boy entered Tran Huu Trang Theater with a dreamy beginning.

Disillusioned and... getting old soon

Who would have thought that Huu Quoc's sweet, sweet voice only lasted a short time, when the boy turned 15 years old, he suddenly became hoarse like an old man. Huu Quoc broke down mentally because he no longer dared to dream of playing the main, double beautiful role. I don't know how many tears wet my pillow, until Huu Quoc met People's Artist Phung Ha...

She is a good and dedicated teacher, many generations of her training have become famous. She selected the 60 students who entered the school and selected the 14 best students to set up 2 sample teams, including Huu Quoc. And the first role she gave him was the mandarin Tu Tu in Phung Nghi Dinh. Oh come on, an old man with long beard to his chin, gray hair, trembling voice... so Huu Quoc cried like rain again.

Mrs. Phung Ha just said softly: "Don't cry, remember that all your glory in the future only starts from this role. Because the character of Situ has enough joy, anger, love, oh, compassion, heroism. give me a lot of acting ground." That "prophetic" sentence opened a new path for Huu Quoc.

Indeed, since then Huu Quoc is famous for his old roles. He said: "Ma Seven trained me too seriously for the role of Situ, so I'm not afraid of any old role in the future." As for the voice, Huu Quoc knows how to "sing" to cover the hoarseness. He further confided: "A shining example for me to follow is People's Artist Diep Lang. He was also hoarse at a young age like me, so he switched to playing a double old man, a double poison, with a voice that knows how to emphasize. very good, turned on the character's psychology, and people admired him. I was determined to practice my profession, no more guilt." And Huu Quoc often joked that he was "old soon", at 16, he became an old man.

The road is wide and bumpy

It is said that his career is sublimated, but in fact, Huu Quoc is still struggling, because when he worked at Tran Huu Trang Theater, he specialized in serving remote areas, few people remember his name. The salary and salary are very modest, Huu Quoc has to do more make-up to survive, and belongs to the best profession. There are days when he takes care of making-up for guests too much, and then rushes to the venue to not have time to eat, but thanks to that, he "has rice" to support himself. He said, every actor has to study makeup, from there, it's easy to do makeup for everyday life. But sadness still clings to my heart, because I don't know when I will be as famous as my childhood dream.

Until 1998, Huu Quoc won the Tran Huu Trang award with Que Tran, which was an opportunity for him to roam. He was invited to act continuously, with a warm and fluent voice, he was also invited to be an MC everywhere. Very quickly, Huu Quoc became a name that appeared everywhere, full of trust. It must be said that one of his valuable qualities is that he must do everything to the right place and achieve the new quality. And in 2007 he was awarded the title of Distinguished Artist at the same time as Minh Vuong, Thanh Tuan, Thoai My, Phuong Loan, Thanh Ngan, Tan Giao... considered the youngest compared to his seniors.

Then in the same year 2007, Huu Quoc's life took a bitter turn. The incident between him and a director caused Huu Quoc to be boycotted for 7 years. He confided: "Now I feel guilty, at that time I couldn't stop my hot temper, so I lost everything. I left Tran Huu Trang and didn't know where to hang on because neither group accepted nor called. I had to hide from my mother, open a restaurant, sometimes I had to wash the dishes myself... At that time I was desperate, I didn't know where I was going... Fortunately, there were Thoai My, Thanh Kim Hue, who encouraged me a lot, and Ai Nhu, My Uyen and Thanh Hoi pulled me into drama. Since then, I have always been in love with drama." Rather, Huu Quoc, after all his "troubles", recovered brilliantly.

Success with drama and game show

In addition to cai luong, he also wrote and edited consecutive plays such as Love Leaves Dieu Cotton, Kite Oi, Tia Oh I Get Married, Dandelion...

Not only that, Huu Quoc also worked as the general director for a TV game show about cai luong like Star of the throne, a very serious program, introducing the families who have followed the cai luong art for many generations. He took care of each performance and lyrics for the contestants, when they came out, they conquered the audience. He confided: "Not every game show is bad, sometimes thanks to it, cai luong is introduced more widely, more interestingly, young people watch more, and begin to love it. I accepted the director's offer for the game. show with all kindness, I just hope that Cai Luong will be inspired during this difficult time." And Huu Quoc did not betray the trust of the audience.
