Hong Dao worked as a comedian but had only sad stories, after divorce her career improved

After divorcing Quang Minh in 2019, artist Hong Dao is currently focusing on taking care of her health and finding joy in her work. In recent years, Hong Dao has been focusing on returning home to act in films, which have been well received by the audience.

Most recently, she participated in two film projects at the same time: Mai by director Tran Thanh and Chi Dau by director Khuong Ngoc, released on Tet holiday 2025.

The artist said she is actively working in the arts because her health and spirit have stabilized. Before that, she faced the pressure of illness and trauma from marital problems.

Currently, Hong Dao's life mainly revolves around work. She often travels between the US and Vietnam to maintain coverage in both places. In Vietnam, artists choose movies with good, new roles to appear in. She often refuses TV series because the filming time is too long, while she does not want to be away from home for long, returning to the US every few months.

In the US, Hong Dao also works hard on her acting career. She also works as an image representative for an insurance company in California.

Hong Dao said she cannot be separated from her family, so she has to return home to the US from time to time to 'recharge'. Her parents are always waiting for her at home; her daughters who work in other cities are also willing to take leave to spend time on vacation with their mother.

'Every morning, my youngest daughter sends me photos before going to work, and my eldest daughter often talks about work. Every time I return to the US, my children take the opportunity to visit me. I want to keep a warm home so that my children always have a place to return to,' she said.

The artist said that since her health incident a few years ago, she has been appreciating life and finding happiness in simple things. If she is not busy, she often takes care of her garden, goes to the market, cooks, watches her favorite movies... Meditation and vegetarianism, according to her, are also great ways to help her recover mentally.

Besides her family, Hong Dao feels lucky to have many good friends. She said that artist Hong Van has been with her since the beginning of her comedy career, and they have always encouraged and comforted each other during difficult times.

Hong Dao always pays attention to care and regular check-ups. When asked about the most important thing in her current life, Hong Dao immediately said it was peace. After many ups and downs, she chose to live simply, positively, and stay healthy to be a support for her parents and children.

Hong Dao said that she has had many ups and downs in life, there were times when the actress thought she could not bear it but still tried to rise from the "low notes". Hong Dao, full name Nguyen Dinh Hong Dao, was born in 1961 (some sources say 1962) in Ho Chi Minh City. She is one of the prominent female artists of the Vietnamese stage and cinema industry.
