Hoang Yen My is a familiar face to theater lovers in Saigon. She graduated from Ho Chi Minh City University of Theater and Cinema. Since she was a high school girl, Yen My has dreamed of becoming an actress. However, this dream was not approved by her parents. Her parents tried to stop her, but because of her passion, Yen My defied it to pursue her dream. After failing to graduate from high school, Yen My ran away from her parents and went to Saigon to cast a movie. She did everything she could to convince her parents to let her pursue art.

She once ran away from her parents to go to movie casting. However, nothing is easy. Right from the first time, My got into trouble, paid money but did not get the role. But then, she was lucky enough to be accepted into a training class of a new television channel. After their daughter's efforts, My's parents were somewhat willing to let their daughter pursue her passion. When she passed the high school exam, Yen My went to Saigon to take the entrance exam to the University of Theater and Cinema. When she received the admission notice, that was also when Yen My's life turned to a new page.

After graduating, Yen My had to go casting from place to place. After many failures, luck finally smiled on her when she received a role in the play "The Smell of Human Skin" of the Minh Fat theater stage. Since then, she became an actress of the Minh Fat theater stage.

In 2016, Yen My left for Korea to attend the Angel's Fighting (boxing) sports event, a tournament broadcast live on October 8 at the HandBall Seoul Olympic Games Arena. Yen My said she hopes to bring dreams to children with incurable diseases by participating in this contest.

After many events in life, Hoang Yen My has been away from the spotlight for many years. Until recently, the Cinema Runner reappeared in the TV series Ly Su Family. She plays Hau - Ly's (Trinh Tu Trung) wife who sells noodles for a living. This character is described as having an unattractive appearance and a clumsy personality, so she always lives behind her husband, being restrained by him.

Sharing about the character's appearance in this re-appearance, Yen My smiled and admitted that she had chosen to remove her teeth on her own without any intervention from the production team. When casting, she still kept her normal appearance, but when she accepted the role, the actress did research and found that the character needed to emphasize the flaws to make her look worse.

"I chose to remove my teeth to make Hau's toothless. It would be both ugly and funny. This would create more impression on the character as well as make My's comeback more unique and interesting." - Hoang Yen My confided.

"When I made up my mind to have my tooth removed, the doctor also asked My if she really wanted to have it removed because when she joined the crew, it would take at least 3-4 months to film. My had to research many options with the doctor to both film and film. Just participated in an advertising project without being affected. Finally, the two sides agreed on a plan to make a "temporary" tooth. This will help My be able to remove and attach it at any time, and I will also be more confident. " - Yen My added.

Because she was away from work for so long, the actress encountered many difficulties in playing the role of Hau. Learning the lines is slow and catching up with your co-stars is also slower. What "scared" her the most was the part where Hau had to rap because of the fast rhythm and many words, and the beauty herself had no musical talent.

Luckily, acting with Trinh Tu Trung made her feel less stressed because her senior was both humorous and experienced in leading. Not only that, Ly Su Family also has the participation of many veteran actors such as: Viet Anh, Thanh Thuy, Phuong Binh, Bich Hang,... Among them, actress Thanh Thuy also often takes the time to chatting and giving instructions to Yen My during filming scenes. This partly helps her overcome many barriers in acting.

Talking about her time in hiding, Yen My also shared that in the past she was quite busy while filming and practicing kick boxing. She also went to Korea to compete but did not win. When she returned home, she was also pregnant, so she retired from the stage to raise a young family. After that, My baby unfortunately passed away. It has been 3 years now, My has enough courage and decided to return to art.
