Billionaire Hoang Kieu, born in 1944 in Quang Tri, is one of the most successful Vietnamese-American businessmen in America.
Having experienced a difficult childhood in a poor family, orphaned at a young age, he was adopted and mentored by his uncle - the late musician Hoang Thi Tho.
Overcoming adversity, Hoang Kieu worked hard to study and enter the biomedical field, from which he built his own empire in the pharmaceutical industry. In 2014, he was honored by Forbes as the richest Vietnamese American in the world. However, in contrast to his brilliant career, the billionaire's love life is full of low notes and bitterness.
At the age of 81, Vietnamese billionaire Hoang Kieu admits that he still has a big regret in his love life. He said that there are women who truly love him and are willing to devote themselves to him:
"There is one thing I regret: there were relationships where people devoted themselves to me, loved me so much, accused me, wanted to keep me, but I didn't want to because of this or that situation," Hoang Kieu shared in a talk show.
The billionaire also denied the idea that women come to him for money: "There are many people who come to me, they are very rich... they truly love me." However, at the age of 81, Hoang Kieu said that reading information about love affairs that don't go as planned and end up together makes him scared: "I'll tell you the truth, I'm very scared. It's tiring when someone doesn't love you, but it's also tiring when someone loves you too much."
Although currently single, Hoang Kieu got married quite early in the past, his first wife gave birth to five children. When the children were young, his wife left the family to follow another successful man.
Talking about his first wife, billionaire Hoang Kieu revealed that she was a beautiful woman but betrayed him twice. "Never get involved with a beautiful woman. My suffering is because I like beautiful women," the billionaire began the story about the women he loved in a recent talk show.
"I married a very beautiful woman who is the mother of my five children, Trang, Tomy, Samy, Tram and Binh. When we were in Vietnam, she was a beautiful woman, so of course many people welcomed her. At that time, Tram was only 18 months old, I had to take her from house to house to ask for help. She ran away with a powerful and wealthy man in society."
Not accepting, Hoang Kieu and his father - musician Hoang Thi Tho - went to his love rival to beg.
"I didn't have enough courage for such a woman. I had to beg and beg my rival to return that woman to me. It was so humiliating. My father loved me very much and it was he who went with me to beg that person to let her go and let her go," he recounted.
But after returning and then settling in the US, billionaire Hoang Kieu was once again betrayed by his wife.
"When she came to America in 1980, she once again left home to follow her old lover while I was alone taking care of my children, Binh, who was five years old at that time, and Tram, who was only seven years old. I lay between my two children every night and was very miserable and in pain when my children asked "where is mommy?", crying and calling for mommy," billionaire Hoang Kieu recalled.
And this time of betrayal, he no longer begged but used his will to overcome it. He lived with his first wife for 15 years.
