Many Ming Dynasty emperors in China's feudal history had short lives, had no children or did not live to adulthood. Folklore believes that this comes from the Ming royal family being caught in a mysterious "curse".

First, we must mention Minh Thanh To himself. Except for the Crown Prince, Zhu Di only had two sons who lived to adulthood and were appointed kings.

Minh Thanh To's son, Minh Nhan Tong, had 9 children, one of whom passed away at birth and was posthumously honored. The remaining four people had no descendants. Thus, the number of this king's premature and infertile sons is more than half.

King Tuyen Tong had 7 sons who were crowned kings, of which 3 had no children. The number of these infertile sons accounts for half of the young. Minh Anh Tong had only one son, who later became King Hien Tong.

The most unfortunate thing is King Minh Dai Tong. This king's sons, including the Crown Prince, all died before reaching adulthood.

Hien Tong had 10 sons who were crowned kings, but 6 of them had no children. The rest, in addition to one person who died in an accident, also died from illness. Thus, the number of infertile and sick sons of this king also accounts for more than half.

Minh Hieu Tong had only one son who lived past adulthood, who later became King Vo Tong.

Minh Thai Tong had 7 sons, 4 of them died at birth, one was appointed Crown Prince, the remaining two princes, one died of illness, one had no descendants.

Minh Muc Tong later only had two sons, one was crown prince, the other was named king.

A mysterious genetic disease plagued the Ming dynasty

From the above evidence, it can be clearly seen that since the time of King Minh Hieu Tong, the descendants of the royal family of the Ming Dynasty were extremely sparse. King Hieu Tong and Thai Tong were both single, Vo Tong had no children, and Muc Tong only had two descendants.

From the reign of Minh Thanh Patriarch Zhu De to Emperor Chong Trinh, there were only 17 kings who left descendants. The number of princes who became extinct was 13 people. The number of people who die before reaching adulthood is countless.

Meanwhile, Chu Nguyen Chuong alone left behind 22 kings. Most of these people have descendants. Taking all the descendants from Zhu De's time onwards together, they are all inferior to this founding Emperor.

Furthermore, people of the Thai To lineage all have strong sexual abilities. It can be said that King Tan had more than 100 children, King Tuc had countless descendants.

These things prove that the Chu family's family since Zhu Di is very likely to have carried a mysterious genetic disease.

Related to the event of Zhu Di's death on the way to war, many people believe that the disease that haunted this dynasty was most likely a vascular disease. Not only are they genetic, vascular diseases also affect male physiology and cause strokes.

This hypothesis is also a reasonable explanation for the sudden deaths of later kings such as Nhan Tong, Tuyen Tong, Anh Tong and the short life of the later Ming Dynasty royal family.

Descendants of the Qing Dynasty

Even during the Qing Dynasty, there were no less thrilling stories about family descendants.

We must mention the last three kings of the Qing Dynasty: Dong Tri, Quang Tu and Pho Nghi.

Many scientists believe that the lack of descendants of all three men is a consequence of close marriage. From the perspective of modern medicine, this hypothesis is completely possible and currently has the most consensus.

A typical example is the marriage of the founding emperor Hoang Tai Chi and his son Thuan Tri. After Hoang Tai Chi ascended the throne and changed the country's name to Dai Thanh, the queen and her concubines were all members of the Northern Er Qi Jin family of Mongolia, including the three concubines who were aunts and nieces. the king's daughter. After succeeding his father, Thuan Tri also took both his cousin and niece as concubines.

The consequence of these inbreeding marriages is that the quantity and quality of the next generations is increasingly decreasing. Hoang Tai Chi has 15 wives, 11 sons, and 14 daughters. Out of 25 children, up to 5 do not live past the age of 16, overall the rate of children dying early is 20%.

The second emperor, Thuan Tri, died of smallpox when he was not yet 24 years old. There were 8 princes and 6 princesses, an early death rate of 43%. The third emperor, Kangxi, lived 68 years old, had 35 sons and 20 daughters, but the premature death rate was up to 51%. Subsequent generations of emperors are likely to decrease, but not too seriously. By the 6th generation, Gia Khanh, this rate reached 57%...

In addition to the influence of inbreeding marriage practices, the extinction of these three kings also depended on their own lifestyles. According to the Chinese Medicine Research Institute, all three kings suffered from serious fertility-related diseases.
