During the time the two were husband and wife, Mr. Duc An was an American citizen, so he "asked his wife to own in his name" 39 types of properties purchased in Vietnam, including: stocks, cars, dozens of apartments, land plots, villas in large projects in Ho Chi Minh City and Phan Thiet (such as Avalon Building, Sailing Tower, Sea Links Golf & County Club) ...

In a lawsuit filed with the People's Court of Ho Chi Minh City in 2010, he asked his ex-wife to return the property because: "bought with own money acquired before marrying Ngoc Thuy".

Since then, Mr. An has changed his request several times from the original lawsuit. Specifically, the giant withdrew his request for Ngoc Thuy to return 5 villas, 7 cars and one motorbike because these villas Ngoc Thuy was not in his name but asked others and then transferred again. According to Duc An, he wants to withdraw these requests so that the case can be quickly resolved and concluded.

In addition, Mr. Duc An also added the petition to ask Ngoc Thuy to return more than 422 million VND and 447,000 USD (total more than 10 billion VND) in 3 bank accounts in her name and 67.8 billion VND is the money Ngoc Thuy has earned from renting 9 luxury apartments in the center of District 1 for many years.

Ngoc Thuy has a counterclaim to her ex-husband's lawsuit request, sent to Ho Chi Minh City.

Mr. An did not agree with Ngoc Thuy's counterclaim requesting to share 50% of the value of assets formed during the marriage, worth more than VND 39 billion.

Specifically, dividing 9 apartments in Avalon Building, Sailing Tower; two properties in Binh Thanh district and a 31% stake in a company in Vung Tau (total value of disputed assets is more than VND 78 billion). According to the plaintiff, Ngoc Thuy's claim is unfounded.
