Miss 'number' Ban Mai, crowned with derided village now proudly holds a master's degree

Miss Tran Thi Bai Mai made people admire when she just successfully completed and got a Master's degree. This is considered a journey of relentless efforts of the beauty, when she was previously criticized for winning the village pond contest.

Crowned Miss Peace Vietnam 2022, the contest was noisily disputed over the name of Vietnameseization of Miss Peace Vietnam with Miss Grand Vietnam, Miss Ban Mai was crowned with many controversies breaking out between the two organizations. It is even said that the contest is a follow-up pageant, but many people do not deny that Ban Mai is a perfectly suitable choice for the title of Miss.

In December 2023, Miss Peace Vietnam 2022 Tran Thi Ban Mai officially entered the online master's program in communication from Southern New Hampshire School (USA). This was Ban Mai's intention from the beginning after graduating with honors in communication from Fisher College, Massachusetts. However, Ban Mai put aside this aspiration after being crowned Miss Peace Vietnam 2022 to complete the work of a new Miss Vietnam.

After more than a year of devoting time to volunteer and social activities as a beauty queen, Ban Mai decided to continue her master's degree as planned. Ban Mai said : "Mai's tenure is two years, but now she finds herself used to the job, can arrange time, so she decided to go back to school. In fact, Mai is very eager to continue learning because she wants to update and add more knowledge and skills for herself. Because now Mai is also doing the right job in the major she has been studying."

The reason for pursuing a master's program at Southern New Hampshire School was revealed by Ban Mai: " The school has suitable study programs for international students, flexible time support for Vietnamese students. In addition, the teaching staff at the school is prestigious and highly appreciated. The most important thing is that the school is one of the universities in the US when graduating with degrees that are used and recognized at Vietnamese universities, can serve for teaching if desired by Ban Mai in the future".

In June 2023, Miss Ban Mai officially becomes the editor and MC of VTV9 - a national television channel in the system of Vietnam Television. In order to be included in the editorial and MC team of VTV9, Ban Mai went through a rigorous selection contest with 3 rounds: Writing, interviewing and recording. And Miss Ban Mai received the highest score of 89/100.

In addition to working as a weather MC, programs recorded on VTV9, Ban Mai also tried her hand as a reporter and editor. In the last three months of 2023, viewers of the station have seen news stories made by Ban Mai, in addition to vivid field reports. After 6 months of being charmed with television, it can be seen that Ban Mai has escaped the image of a sparkling miss who stands out in events to become a simple, dynamic TV reporter and editor.

Starting her master's program, Ban Mai does not worry about being slacking off at work. "Mai loves her current job, so she chose online learning instead of having to stop working and fly abroad to study. Southern New Hampshire's curriculum is extremely flexible, allowing Mai to pursue her plans more easily. Moreover, classes on American time will be late in Vietnam, which will not affect Mai's daytime working hours much," Ban Mai said.

She also said that she was familiar and not too worried about this form of study because "in the last year of university, when the COVID-19 epidemic was raging, Mai asked to return to Vietnam to practice and study online. It was also busy and the hours were just as "choppy" but Mai was able to arrange and finish well."

In 2024, Ban Mai hopes to still balance and maintain to complete both her work at the station and her studies. Mai has also honed her hosting skills to be ready to host live news. Ban Mai shared: "Continuing to produce many news articles, reports or is Mai's wish in the new year. Besides, Mai will still devote a lot of attention and time to social activities, contributing to the community."
