The Miss International Queen 2024 contest is taking place in Thailand. Vietnam's representative this year is Tuong San, considered the most promising candidate for the throne because of her soft, feminine features.

On the morning of August 12, Tuong San met and interacted with 21 contestants at the first activity of the contest. "I'm happy to stand on stage and shout my name and country. I'm ready for everything, mentally comfortable to enter the competition rounds," the transgender beauty said.

At the event, the contestants all wore white outfits. On many forums, the audience commented that the quality of the contestants this year was quite even, with many prominent faces such as beauties from Thailand, Colombia, the Philippines, Taiwan, Mexico, and India.

Tuong San left on August 8, carrying 10 suitcases including clothes and accessories for the National Costume and Fashion Beauty competitions, evening gowns for the semi-finals and finals. She arrived in Thailand early because she wanted to practice more on catwalk and stage performance skills. For the past three days, Tuong San has attended a training class led by model Lukkade.

The contestant's birth name is Nguyen Hoang Bao Phuc, born in 2005, from Khanh Hoa, 1.79 m tall. Bao Phuc changed gender at the end of 2022, taking the stage name Tuong San to work. She competed in Miss International Queen Vietnam a year later, winning the first runner-up position. In June, Tuong San beat An Nhi in a selection, winning the right to participate in the world competition. For nearly a year, she has been active in the fashion industry, having been chosen by many designers to showcase their collections.

Many people commented that Tuong San has feminine facial features and fair skin. The beauty said that when she was young, she felt different from her peers. At the age of 14, when she saw Huong Giang crowned Miss International Queen 2018, Tuong San felt that she was suitable for the contest. She decided to change gender because she wanted her life to be meaningful and at the same time fulfill her dream like her senior.

"When I told them I wanted to change my gender, my family didn't support me but didn't object either. I felt pressured because I was the eldest grandson in the family. However, my desire to become a woman was too strong. I saved up money and went to have the surgery alone when I turned 18," she said.

Over the past two years, Tuong San has been satisfied with her appearance and comfortable mentally. She said: "I am close to achieving my biggest dream in life - stepping onto the international stage, contributing to affirming the beauty and influence of the Vietnamese transgender community."

Miss International Queen, held in Thailand since 2004, is one of the world's largest transgender beauty pageants. In its 18th edition, the reigning queen, Solange Dekker of the Netherlands, will hand over the crown to her successor at the final, scheduled for August 24.

In 2018, Huong Giang Idol was crowned the winner of the contest. In 2023, beauty Nguyen Ha Dieu Thao finished in the top 11.
