The contestant's birth name is Nguyen Hoang Bao Phuc, born in 2005, from Khanh Hoa, 1.79 m tall. Bao Phuc changed gender at the e.nd of 2022, taking the stage name Tuong San to work. She competed in Miss International Queen Vietnam a year later, winning the first runner-up position. In June, Tuong San beat An Nhi in a selection, winning the right to participate in the world competition. For nearly a year, she has been active in the fashion industry, having been chosen by many designers to showcase their collections.

At the age of 14, when she saw Huong Giang crowned Miss International Queen 2018, Tuong San felt that she was suitable for the contest. "When I told them I wanted to change my gender, my family didn't support me but didn't object either. I felt pressured because I was the eldest grandson in the family. However, my desire to become a woman was too strong. I saved up m.oney and went to have the surgery alone when I turned 18," she said.

Over the past two years, Tuong San has been satisfied with her appearance and comfortable mentally. She said: "I am close to achieving my biggest dream in life - stepping onto the international stage, contributing to affirming the beauty and influence of the Vietnamese transgender community."

Miss International Queen, held in Thailand since 2004, is one of the world's largest transgender beauty pageants. In its 18th edition, the reigning queen, Solange Dekker of the Netherlands, will hand over the crown to her successor at the final, scheduled for August 24.

In 2018, Huong Giang Idol was crowned the winner of the contest. In 2023, beauty Nguyen Ha Dieu Thao finished in the top 11.
