Han is a male idol of the group Stray Kids. Although he has a huge fan base, he has also experienced criticism before, when his past when he was 13 years old was dug up, when he was shallow and composed bad music.
Han's real name is Han Jisung and his Sino-Vietnamese name is Han Tri Thanh. He was born on September 14, 2000 in Incheon, Korea. He is currently a member of the boy band Stray Kids and holds the position of Rapper, main vocalist and producer of the group.
Han officially joined and became a trainee at JYP Entertainment in 2016. He was trained by the company for about three years before debuting. Not only that, Han was also a member of 3RACHA along with Bang Chan and Changbin with the stage name J.ONE
In 2021, while Stray Kids was starting to be known by Kpop fans, Han became the center of controversy on social networking sites and online forums from Korea to internationally. Accordingly, one of the rap songs he wrote in the past was "dug up" and spread widely. In fact, Han wrote this song before his debut, but after many years it became known to the Korean online community.
This rap song that is considered problematic not only includes sensitive words but also contains words with racist connotations and disrespect for Southeast Asian people. In addition, many people also pointed out that Han's rap song also includes phrases expressing discriminatory attitudes and discrimination against people with disabilities.
It is known that this rap was written by Han at the age of 13, while still in middle school, meaning 8 years before it was released. The original version was originally uploaded by Han to his personal YouTube channel before launch, but was later removed. But some netizens reposted this song on social networks before it reached Korean netizens on online forums.
What Han wrote in a rap when he was 13 years old has created a series of mixed opinions. While some people think that this is just the impetuosity of youth and that Han has realized his mistake so as not to make it again, other netizens claim that even if it is just in the past, This is also a big problem because Stray Kids has a large international fan base.
While being heavily criticized, Han posted a long apology letter to his fans on his personal Instagram account. He wrote: "Hello, this is Stray Kids HAN. First of all, the lyrics I wrote around 2013, when I was 13 years old, caused great concern for fans and many others. No There is nothing to defend, this is completely my fault.
I wrote those inappropriate lyrics with the sole thought of rapping in those childish and irresponsible days. I'm sorry for hurting so many people with my thoughtlessly written lyrics. Due to this incident, I was able to reflect deeply upon reading the comments that many people left, as well as about the lyrics that I wrote in the past.
The reason I chose to become a singer is to be able to express myself through music and connect with many people. So I feel very ashamed of myself for writing such words in the past. I fully understand that such behavior cannot be excused solely on the basis of my young age, and I will deeply reflect on my actions.
I will always appreciate the love and support of fans around the world and will become an artist who stands on stage with an honest heart. Once again, I sincerely apologize to everyone who has been hurt by my past actions."
While many netizens agreed to forgive, most others thought that Han only apologized because he was a celebrity, but probably didn't know where he was wrong. The idea of discrimination was already ingrained in his blood because he was so young. I've had thoughts like that for a while.
Talking more about Han's personal life, Han was born in Incheon, South Korea in a family consisting of father, mother and an older brother born in 1997. He also lived and studied in Malaysia for about 6 years before auditioning and Joined JYP Entertainment. He officially became a trainee of the company in 2015. By the end of 2016, Han and two other members formed a Produce group called "3RACHA" and worked under the stage name J.One. The group's music products were all posted on the SoundCloud platform in early 2017.
In addition, he has also participated in producing music for Stray Kids with 3RACHA until now. Han is also recognized as one of the youngest artists in the Top 50 artists who own the most music copyrights on KOMCA as of October 2020. Han officially participated in the survival program "Stray Kids" of produced by JYP Entertainment and Mnet at the end of 2017. He debuted with the group "Stray Kids" on March 25, 2018 with his debut album titled "I AM NOT" and the single "District 9". After that, HAN also became the youngest artist to have song copyrights with 100 songs registered on KOMCA in January 2022.
