Francia Raisa denies rumours of being 'forced' to donate a kidney to Selena Gomez, dispelling hysterical rumours

In 2017, Selena Gomez was the focus of criticism from netizens when she said that the singer forced as well as was ungrateful to actress Francia Raisa – her close friend who once donated a kidney to her. Until recently, Francia Raisa refuted this rumor.

On the Good Guys podcast on Aug. 1, Francia Raisa said of donating a kidney to Selena: "From my heart, I knew I was the right person. I knew it was going to happen. No one forced me to do anything. It came from the real kindness in my heart and I've been blessed so much since."

Recently, there have been many speculations on the Internet that Francia Raisa did not actually volunteer to donate a kidney to Selena, but she was put in a dilemma to save her friend who was suffering from kidney failure because of lupus erythematosus. However, Francia insists the decision to donate a kidney was entirely her own. The How I Met Your Father actress said she never imagined kidney donation would cause such a stir and turn into such an Internet story.

Regarding rumors of feud with Selena Gomez, Francia Raisa also flatly denied it.

Previously, when Selena Gomez and Francia Raisa were close friends that US - UK viewers all admired for their friendship. After learning her friend needed to be donated a kidney, Francia Raisa went for tests to see if her kidneys were compatible with Selena's.

She said she wanted to inform Selena herself when she received the results of the two matching tests, but things didn't work out that way. "One day, I got a phone call from Selena on FaceTime and she said, 'You're right for me!'" "I wanted to have my own way of telling her when I made my decision. I knew it was going to happen and it just took time."

By the time the results came in, the doctor had gone against the rules, informing Selena Gomez that Francia Raisa's kidneys were compatible with hers before Francia Raisa's. Selena Gomez, after hearing the news, called to inform Francia "back".

Earlier, Francia also told how desperate Selena was when she received a diagnosis of kidney failure, which made her not hesitate to get tested to save her friend. According to sources, a year after the operation, the friendship between the two girls malfunctioned. Francia is said to be upset when she sees Selena drinking, partying, not caring about her health. At the end of 2018, Selena had a mental breakdown and had to go to psychological treatment and Francia Raisa made up with her friend.

Late last year, an interview between Selena Gomez and Rolling Stone magazine in which the Love You Like a Love Song hitmaker shared, "I never fit into a group of stylish girls who are celebrities. My only close friend in the industry is Taylor (Swift), so I always feel lost."

This statement led many to assume that Selena Gomez was ungrateful to Francia Raisa. The actress also learned about the interview and unfollowed Gomez on Instagram on Nov. 6.

Not long after, netizens continued to discover that Selena Gomez did not mention Francia Raisa in the latest documentary - Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me, although it is about her journey to overcome both physical and mental illnesses in the past.

The singer even named the kidney Fred Armisen - someone she never knew. After Selena Gomez's ungrateful statement, netizens immediately "dug up" old information and videos about the incident to find that she was deliberately "manipulating" her friend, forcing her friend to donate a kidney.

Selena has been trying to reconcile with her friend for some time. For Francia Raisa's birthday on July 26, Selena posted a series of old photos with her friend with the message: "Happy birthday special someone.
