Vu Linh's younger brother is in critical condition, Hong Loan is absent, Hong Nhung and her mother reveal this attitude

Recently, the family of artist Tieu Linh - the younger brother of Meritorious Artist Vu Linh said that the male artist was just hospitalized due to pleural effusion, in critical condition. According to the video shared by the family, Tieu Linh was lying haggard on the hospital bed.

His wife, Cai Luong artist Kim Thoa, was there to take care of her husband. Artist Hong Nhung (Vu Linh's younger sister, Tieu Linh's older sister) and her daughter Hong Phuong were there to support her brother's family. Both helped with the paperwork and hospital admission procedures for the male artist. Hong Phuong said: "Bay has had lung disease for a long time, and his health has been getting worse recently. He was hospitalized 4 days ago, with pleural effusion, and his family is taking care of him."

Currently, artist Kim Thoa has to temporarily stop working to stay in the hospital. The family said that Tieu Linh and her husband have a difficult and unstable life, while the male artist has been sick for many years. Although Mrs. Kim Thoa is old, she is still the economic pillar, taking care of her husband's living expenses and medical expenses.

According to his family, artist Tieu Linh was hospitalized in mid-2024 and was treated for more than two weeks. This time, his illness was more severe than before. Despite financial difficulties, the family is currently trying to manage on their own and does not want to call for donations for fear of disturbing friends, colleagues, and audiences.

Artist Vu Linh’s real name is Vo Van Ngoan, born in 1958 in Saigon, comes from a poor family with 6 siblings. He is the older brother of artist Hong Nhung and artist Tieu Linh. Vu Linh and his siblings were allowed by their family to pursue singing careers from a young ag.e.

Recently, the family of Meritorious Artist Vu Linh has received much attention due to conflicts related to the inheritance dispute of the "king of reformed opera". After Vu Linh passed away, Hong Nhung and Tieu Linh repeatedly denied the information that Hong Loan was Vu Linh's biological daughter. Both artists disagreed with the fact that Hong Loan inherited the "king of reformed opera" house at 5 Doan Thi Diem (HCMC).

In June 2023, Hong Nhung filed a lawsuit against her niece to claim joint ownership of her brother's house. In the lawsuit, Ms. Nhung requested that Vu Linh's inheritance be divided between her and Mr. Vo Thanh Nhieu (aka artist Tieu Linh).

In January 2025, the first instance trial of the dispute over the inheritance of Meritorious Artist Vu Linh took place. Hong Nhung and Hong Phuong were both present, but Tieu Linh, due to health reasons, authorized his wife, artist Kim Thoa, to attend.

At the trial, Hong Nhung lost the case, the court recognized Hong Loan as a legal adopted chil.d, belonging to the first line of inheritance. However, the panel of judges decided to divide 15% of the inheritance value for her because they considered her to have contributed to taking care of the family. The remaining 85% of the inheritance value belonged to Hong Loan.

Immediately after the end of the first instance trial, Hong Nhung continued to file an appeal because she believed that the court's recognition of Hong Loan as an adopted chil.d and her right to receive 85% of the inheritance was unreasonable. Hong Nhung requested the appellate court to determine that Meritorious Artist Vu Linh had no heirs in the first order of inheritance. The heirs in the second order of inheritance, she and Tieu Linh, were entitled to the entire inheritance.

On Hong Loan's side, the daughter of the "king of reformed opera" has also filed a partial appeal against the verdict of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Court because she disagrees with her aunt being given 15% of the inheritance. Hong Nhung said on livestream: "The other side is given 15% but our side does not accept it, so we have to appeal. I would rather take that amount and do charity work, accumulate merit for my father than give it to people without conscience. There is no way I will divide it."

It is known that the daughter of the "king of reformed opera" has completed the procedures to transfer the ownership of the house at 5 Doan Thi Diem. Her family has moved here since 2023.

Nearly two years after the "king of reformed opera" passed away, the family conflict over inheritance rights between the late artist's younger brother and daughter has yet to end.
