Dung Lai Programming: 21 years old studying AI PhD, is a lecturer at Swinburne University Australia

Lai Tuan Dung, born in 1998, was invited to teach at Swinburne University (Australia) at the en.d of his first semester, three years later he received a PhD scholarship in AI from the school.

Dung Lai Programming's real name is Lai Tuan Dung, born in 1998 in a poor family, his parents worked as tailors to raise 2 brothers to study.

At grade 1, from grade 1, he showed an aptitude for math. The homeroom teacher often communicates privately with parents to advise them to invest more in their son because it is very likely.

At level 2, Dung passed the math exam at Giang Vo School, was mentored by highly qualified teachers to become the "chicken" of the whole school team, always winning the first prize at math competitions from school level to national level.

With his efforts, Dung Lai won a perfect score at the contest on 10, passed specialized schools in Hanoi, especially in the Amsterdam high school entrance exam, Dung passed the exam with a near absolute score, became the runner-up of the school and won the prize of the Vietnam Mathematical Association directly awarded by Professor Ngo Bao Chau.

When asked, if you think back on those years, why did you take such care. Dung replied: "At that time, I saw that my parents were very hard, the whole family and grandparents, even though they were old, had to work hard, sewing every needle, in the small house, the fabric was always sprawling and dusty a lot. Living in an environment where everyone from old to young works hard and loves work, I am used to that pace of life."

After the only house was entangled in land clearance, through many years of rights disputes with the authorities, Dung's parents used all the meager compensation to invest for their 2 sons to study in Australia, hoping that he would expand his knowledge.

Knowing that their families did not have conditions, the 2 Dung brothers lived on each other alone in the country, both of them quickly found part-time jobs after only a few days of arriving in a foreign country to have mone.y to pay for living expenses (2 brothers did all kinds of jobs from looking after pho shops, cafes, printing goods, repairing phones.....) It's very hard, it only takes time to go to work and not be afraid of anything.

Working and studying at the same time, Dung still excellently received the best student scholarship of the whole course awarded by the Dean and sponsors. Dung also regularly achieves perfect scores in programming subjects, which are often posted on Swinburne University's website to serve as sample tests for students. In his spare time, Dung often helps other students in school when facing programming difficulties.

At the ag.e of 18, Dung was trusted by professors at Swinburne University, tasked with teaching basic programming subjects to undergraduate students due to his passion, effort and ability to explain visually and understandably. The first time he taught class, Dung said, everyone asked him his ag.e, because he looked like a chil.d, dressed like a chil.d, and stood to teach.

During his years of teaching, Dung said, over the years, students who got maximum grades were always in his class. Sometimes in one class I am their teacher, in another class I become classmates with friends. There were periods of teaching and working too much, I forgot that I was going to Australia to study abroad. Some times I even met the Olympia champion in my class, it was really fun. Walking around the school students greet constantly, because that subject anyone who is new to university in IT must also study.

In his first year of university, Dung and his teachers at Swinburne University successfully researched the virtual assistant project for the visually impaired, which was posted on the largest scientific conference in Australia and had the opportunity to present at the scientific exhibition held at the Australian Government Building Parliament House.

This research and his relationships with the research team led Dung to be accepted to work at Australia's largest applied artificial intelligence AI research institute at Deakin University.

Dung Lai excellently received a full doctoral scholarship to continue his research work on artificial intelligence AI at the ag.e of 21, right after receiving his undergraduate degree.

Currently, Dung Lai is a Lead Tutor (main instructor), teaching basic programming subjects at Swinburne University, as well as a PhD student at the A2I2 Institute of Applied Artificial Intelligence. He is also a Teaching Associate at Monash University, in charge of python and AI programming for students pursuing a master's degree in accounting.

In addition to working at universities in Australia, Dung Lai regularly uploads programming teaching videos for beginners in Vietnamese, as well as sharing his experiences studying in Australia. This is how he inspires young people to love programming in Vietnam.

On weekends, Dung often spends time building content to share about the information technology industry and teaching basic programming to the youth community.

Dung hopes that, with all his years of teaching, his sharing can help Vietnamese students and international students preparing to come to Australia have a more general view of the programming industry, as well as be prepared to reduce the surprise when starting formal study.

Dung Lai shared that information technology is a technical discipline that is currently in very high demand in the market, materials for self-study are also very rich and diverse, as long as there is determination and seriousness, persistence in exploring to improve skills, programming can easily become a tool to mak.e mone.y to help pay for life and help families.
