DOUBLE2T - The Mountain Man: The owner of the hit song "À Lei", the most expensive contestant on the show Rap

The name Double2T is no stranger to the audience, especially fans of rap music. Recently, he has continuously taken social media by storm with the hits created during his participation in the show "Rap Viet" season 3.

Double2T said that since receiving the announcement of passing the casting round of "Rap Viet" season 3, it is also the time to pull a series of his first times. It was his first time on a plane, his first time in Ho Chi Minh City. HCM, and for the first time participated in a big show, meeting rap artists that he had previously only seen on television screens.

"I feel that the days of living in the common house of Vietnamese Rap are very fun, opening my eyes to see - listening to music, living with music... This is really a beautiful dream that I don't want to wake up but have to wake up a little to... Go to the exam," the rapper said.

Double2T's real name is Bui Xuan Truong from Tuyen Quang province, he is a rapper from the North and impressed the public with his rap song "Thanh Sound Mien Nui" at the Conquest round "Rap Viet" season 3.

With a bold rap style of mountain people, Double2T has successfully captured the attention of fans and made them unable to stop dancing because of the signature melody as well as the captivating story that the guy tells in the rap.

Ahead of Double2T's performance, coach B Ray said, "Initially, when you stepped out on stage, I thought you didn't fit my team's coaching style. But then I saw a Masew in you and I thought Masew could help with the music you're doing."

Coach BigDaddy also shared: "I just want to say that you are really good. He had the opportunity to go to the Northwest and shoot some music videos up there, and he understood that people's lives there were very idyllic. I agree with B Ray that I love Masew's beats, but when I return to my team, I have DuongK and other friends who can help your music with beats like this, maybe even more so."

When asked about his goals and ability to perform in the future, if he were to return to a coaching team with a different color than his current Double2T self, would he be able to do well. Immediately after that, Xuan Chang did not hesitate but confidently affirmed: "I will definitely do well 100%!"

Double2T's answers made it easier for judges Suboi, JustaTee and Karik to make their decisions. After a few minutes of consultation, they brought Double2T to coach B Ray's team.

In the process of preparing for the next round of "Rap Viet", Double2T embarked on music with producer Masew – who was mentioned by B Ray earlier to recruit Xuan Truong to their team. His and Masew's new work is called "À Lei" with a catchy, easy-to-listen melody that is easy to remember.

Notably, before the official release of this song, the rap line "Because I like you so much but I say it's a bug / Also planning to solo hip-hop with a boy but only" went viral on social media platforms. "À Lei" is a unique combination of folk sounds with modern style. Through each sentence, each word in the article affirms the true nature of mountain people.

Talking about the meaning of this song, the rapper said: Through the song "À Lei" he wants to introduce to everyone a special and common exclamation phrase of Tay ethnic people in particular, northern mountainous people in general. Besides, he also asked everyone to relax with the sound of mountains and forests and immerse themselves in the music of ethnic instruments.

"I've known Masew for a long time. He is one of my favorite producers in Vietnam. It wasn't until I joined Rap Viet that I met and worked with him," Double2T added.

Returning to "Rap Viet" season 3, at the Confrontation round broadcast on 15/7, Double2T surprised by combining ethnic music and rap together through the song "Vietnamese Rice Grains". The material is taken from the poem "Rice grains of My Village" by author Tran Dang Khoa.

In his performance, the rapper and his teammates chose to wear the costumes of mountain people accompanied by a leaf hat to create a bold feeling of Vietnamese national identity. Shown true to their forte, Double2T burned out on stage with rapper LoR, making the whole studio unable to sit still.

At the end of the performance, the judges chose LoR to go ahead with coach B Ray's team. I thought I would stop here, but when MC Tran Thanh just announced Double2T in the "8 bar" round, suddenly coach BigDaddy threw the Golden Hat to save the guy to his team. So "Mountain Man" has the opportunity to continue fighting hard with passion.

And recently, he had a spectacular "makeover" when facing the "monsters" of Group C of the Breakthrough round: Mikelodic, Hydra and Dlow. Double2T's performance was widely regarded as the most outstanding in the group, but for some reason he had to regret watching Mikelodic reach the final.

However, there are still 3 Golden Hats for the judges to consider which contestant to bring back after all the group is over. Therefore, the audience has the right to hope to see Xuan Truong appear on the stage of "Rap Viet" this season.

Regarding the future orientation, Xuan Truong hopes that through rapping, he will bring the identities and sounds of mountain people closer to the audience. To be able to connect the distance between the mountains and the plains together, so that people can understand the customs and lives of mountain people.

Currently, Double2T is considered the most expensive contestant on the show "Rap Viet" when constantly appearing at large and small events. The most recent was at The Face Vietnam Final on August 13. It is known that before participating in "Rap Viet" season 3, Double2T was also the owner of a hair salon in Tuyen Quang province called Thiki Baber Shop.
