'Jackie Chan's rival' Hong Kong martial arts 'villain' actor, dies of cancer

Hong Kong actor Tsui Siu-keung - famous for his series of martial arts films in the 1970s and 1980s - died of esophageal cancer, and his wife also died after arranging his funeral.

According to Oriental Daily on September 15, the artist passed away earlier this month in Beijing, China, at the age of 74. Director Tian Kai-man, h.ead of the Hong Kong Filmmakers Association, said that the family had only just announced the sad news because of the confusion over the past p.eriod of mourning. Xu Siu-keung's wife passed away from heart disease after completing her husband's funeral. The d.eath of both husband and wife has made the family even more difficult.

"Thank you everyone for your concern. I hope everyone will give the family time to deal with this sad news," the actor's son Tu Vy Dong spoke on behalf of the family, thanking colleagues and artists for their condolences.

He was born in 1950 in Hong Kong, entered the film industry in 1972, initially as a "long ho martial artist" (referring to those who specialize in dangerous stunts in action movies). After that, the actor played the main role in many movies, including the role of Trieu Chieu in That Hiep Ngu Nghia (1976), Thien Tam Bien (as Van Phi Duong, who practiced Thien Tam Than Cong).

In the 1980s and 1990s, the artist mainly played villain roles, appearing in The Legend of the Condor Heroes, The Romance of Sui and Tang, The Butler, The Legend of Wu Zhen, Wudang 2, The Return of the Condor Heroes 1998, and The Beggar King.

At the end of his life, he participated in films and television series produced by mainland China, such as Truong Tuong Thu, Tan Lieu Trai, Ban Nap Phong Van, Dich Nhan Kiet 2022, Linh Hieu Tru Sat. He has six films that have been recorded but not yet released.

With his handsome appearance, Tu Thieu Cuong is a playboy artist, having many noisy love affairs in the past. Among them, the most noisy love affair was with Hong Kong actress Tuyet Le - who played Ly Mac Sau in The Return of the Condor Heroes 1995.

According to Sohu, in 1975, Tu Thieu Cuong married his first wife Truong Tieu Phuong, but divorced after 4 years. In 1980, he remarried Ha Thuc Khoan and had a son, Tu Diec Dong.

Meanwhile, actress Tuyet Le was only 15 years old when she worked with Tu Thieu Cuong and fell in love with the male artist. At the age of 18, she gave birth to a son for the actor. Tu Thieu Cuong left his wife to be with Tuyet Le and had another daughter, but they only lived together for a few years before going their separate ways.

In 1988, the two went their separate ways, and Tuyet Le became a single mother. Tuyet Le once said that from the time her c.hild was born until he grew up, she had made all the decisions. Tu Thieu Cuong did not say anything, nor did he provide c.hild support. "If I had not been a single mother that year, maybe I would have had a happy family. But who can guarantee that? Luckily, I met an ugly man but had two lovely children. The children are the most wonderful gift that God has given me," Tuyet Le said.

The marriage haunted the actress, making her not believe in love. Tu Dinh Khon revealed that since she was very young, her mother always told her that life is not a fairy tale, and that she should not trust people easily. Tuyet Le often shows her daughter sad and p.ainful movies so that she can understand that "life is not rosy, you must remember that so that when you grow up, you will not be easily hurt or deceived".

The artist lives alone, now that her children are grown up, she is often taken on trips by them. In recent years, the 57-year-old actress has played supporting roles in many movies and television shows.

In 2017, the artist was rumored to have an affair, he denied it, saying that the couple's relationship was good. After marrying a Chinese woman, Tu Thieu Cuong changed, becoming an exemplary husband and father.
