Denmark makes history, first time "holding" MU crown, still being robbed of spotlight by Ky Duyen

Miss Universe 2024 ended with the victory of beauty Victoria Kjær Theilvig from Denmark. Vietnam's representative - Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen also did very well when she entered the Top 30.

The 73rd Miss Universe final was held at Arena CDMX, Mexico on the morning of November 17 (Hanoi time). Surpassing 124 contestants from countries and territories around the world, Victoria Kjær Theilvig was crowned the highest position. The titles of 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th runner-up respectively belonged to representatives of Nigeria, Mexico, Thailand and Venezuela.

Victoria Kjær Theilvig won convincingly with her gorgeous beauty, graceful performance and intelligent answers. Before the final, many beauty sites predicted that she would win the crown. More notably, she is the first representative of Denmark to win the Miss Universe crown.

It is known that the new Miss Universe this year is 21 years old, from the city of Søborg, Denmark, studying Marketing and Economics. Possessing a doll-like face, attractive blue eyes and shiny blonde hair, the beauty made a strong impression from the first days of entering the competition. Not only that, she also has an outstanding height of 1m72, and a graceful body language thanks to her experience as a dancer, winning the European Championship and the World Championship.

Before coming to Miss Universe, Victoria Kjær Theilvig was also a familiar face in beauty pageants. In 2021, she won the title of 2nd runner-up in the Miss Denmark contest. In 2022, she was crowned Miss Grand Denmark at the ag.e of 19 and had a ticket to Miss Grand International.

Thanks to her background as a dancer, Victoria Kjær Theilvig has an advantage in the endurance-demanding "race" like Miss Grand because of the long schedule and many challenges, and the sub-competitions that took place. In the end, the beauty entered the Top 20 with the representative of Vietnam - Doan Thien An.

Despite her young ag.e, Victoria Kjær Theilvig is already an ambitious woman with a sharp mind and strengths in marketing. She even wants to become a lawyer in the future, despite her impressive achievements in the beauty arena, and her path to showbiz is wide open.

As for the Vietnamese representative, Ky Duyen stopped at the Top 30 and did not win any other awards. She only appeared on camera when performing in the swimsuit competition. But at the moment of coronation, the beauty suddenly appeared in the frame of the new Miss Universe and immediately attracted attention on social networks.

Contrary to public expectations, Ky Duyen remained optimistic and positive despite not achieving the expected results. The beauty queen's happy image while congratulating Victoria Kjær Theilvig made fans somewhat reassured.

Top 30 is considered quite suitable for the efforts of the Vietnamese representative, although the audience felt a bit regretful and hoped that she could go further in the competition. However, to be fair, Ky Duyen still has weaknesses due to limited language ability, and her performance was not very impressive in both the semi-finals and the finals. Up to now, the person holding the highest record of Vietnamese sash at Miss Universe is still H'Hen Nie with Top 5 in the 2018 season.

In addition to Ky Duyen, the Top 30 also has many representatives from Asia such as: India, China, Japan, Thailand, Macau, Philippines, Malaysia and Cambodia. This result surprised beauty fans, but not as much as the absence of the American representative, breaking the long streak of the US in the top.

After the swimsuit competition, 12 contestants from Bolivia, Mexico, Venezuela, Argentina, Puerto Rico, Nigeria, Russia, Chile, Thailand, Denmark, Canada and Peru moved on to the evening gown competition. The results of the Top 5 were also quickly announced, including: Nigeria, Mexico, Denmark, Thailand and Venezuela. The representatives of Chile and Peru were regretful for not being able to advance further.
