People's Artist Cong Ly's daughter makes a documentary about her father, shares something touching

Recently, Thuc Anh - daughter of artist Cong Ly publicly released the graduation documentary "There is a constellation" with the main character being People's Artist Cong Ly.

Thuc Anh shares her perspective on a long journey from building her career to experiencing health problems.

Thuc Anh also expressed that she once thought that her father had abandoned her and her mother, that her father did not care about her life. After all, Thuc Anh said that she was very inspired by her father's life journey.

At the beginning of this documentary, Thuc Anh talks about the golden age of artist Cong Ly, when she had to accompany her father to drinking parties, film sets... so that the two could spend time together. However, after her father and mother divorced, Thuc Anh realized that she began to distance herself from her father. In a program, artist Cong Ly once shared that perhaps his daughter wanted to be a painter, which made Thuc Anh feel sad because she did not receive understanding. The two even did not see each other for 2 months because Thuc Anh refused to take the driver's license test.

Thuc Anh wanted to understand more about her father's life, so she decided to enter the art world: "I wanted to know how sublime it was to stand under the spotlight, so that my father would always be concerned about it. So concerned that sometimes he forgot his family, even me. People always think that actors are very happy when they are noticed, when the spotlight is on them. But there was a time when my father lived alone in Nguyen Bieu, when he returned home he was alone, his feelings could not be shared with anyone."

Artist Cong Ly's daughter said that when his career was flourishing, a health incident occurred. Thuc Anh told the story for the first time about the day her father had a stroke. After a period of treatment, he burst into tears because he could not remember her name: "My father was very happy, so he took a bath to go to the station to receive the script. That day, my father had a stroke. Because of the fall, he was hospitalized during the Covid-19 period. No one could visit him, he had to be alone. For my family, it was unfortunate, but it was also that incident that made me realize that I loved my father more than I thought. I realized how much I needed him, and how afraid I was of losing him. When I met my father, he could not stand up by himself and had to be supported. He burst into tears because he saw me, recognized me, but could not remember my name."

In this documentary, Thuc Anh also "defended" her father when he was said to be promiscuous for having many wives. Thuc Anh said: "Divorce does not halve love, but doubles it. I always thought that having many wives was promiscuous, but when my father loved someone, he loved with all his heart. His love language was also very different, not saying cheesy words or giving expensive gifts, my father took the person he loved everywhere. He did it with my mother before, and later with other relationships as well."

Thuc Anh was born in 2001, her mother is editor Thuc Khue. Thuc Anh graduated from the Directing Department of the Hanoi Academy of Theatre and Cinema. Previously, in an interview, she said that her father was the reason why she took the exam to enter the Academy of Theatre and Cinema. Many people know that Thuc Anh is the daughter of People's Artist Cong Ly, but she was not favored and her teachers taught her more strictly. Thuc Anh is a production assistant and film crew secretary for VTV's Television Film Production Center (VFC).
