Huong Giang made a strong impression at Miss Universe 2025 when she appeared in the national costume competition in a white ao dai, imbued with the image of a Vietnamese schoolgirl.

Unlike the colorful and elaborate costumes that many international contestants chose, Huong Giang and her team decided to choose a white Ao Dai with wide-leg pants, made of cotton and silk, designed by Ngo Manh Dong Dong. The outfit not only showed sophistication but also had a deep personal meaning, bringing the image of Vietnamese female students to life on the international stage.

Designer Ngo Manh Dong Dong said he was moved when Huong Giang proposed the idea, talking about its meaning and wishes. According to him, the ao dai is a cultural symbol in the hearts of Vietnamese people, with a beauty that is not ostentatious but has a strong influence.

Before stepping onto the stage, Huong Giang shared that she always dreamed of wearing a white ao dai when she was a student and today, that wish has come true. "Throughout my school years, I always wanted to wear a white ao dai to school. Today, I am happy because I can fulfill that dream right on the Miss Universe stage," she said.

To add more liveliness, Huong Giang brought a bicycle prop worth about 2 million VND, reminiscent of the image of a Vietnamese schoolgirl. The bicycle was designed simply and lightly, with a basket in the front to hold a conical hat and a school bag, suitable for the image of a schoolgirl, while still being rustic and familiar.

While many contestants chose elaborate costumes and complicated props, Huong Giang used a simple but symbolic item.
