Husband of a Vietnamese female singer speaks frankly about Xuan Son, hinting at the naturalization controversy

Nguyen Xuan Son, whose real name is Rafaelson Bezerra Fernandes, is a professional footballer of Brazilian origin. The male player currently plays as a striker for the V.League 1 club Nam Dinh Steel and the Vietnam national football team.

Xuan Son was injured in the AFF Cup final match at Rajamangala Stadium, Thailand on the evening of January 5, when he dribbled the ball and tried to stretch to pass into the Thai penalty area. His right foot swept hard on the ground. After a few minutes of first aid on the field, the Vietnamese striker was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Bangkok. Initial examination and X-ray results in Thailand determined that Son had broken the fibula and tibia of his right leg.

The surgery for Xuan Son ended at 10pm on January 6. Prof. Dr. Dung directly supervised the surgery, with the participation of doctors who are all experienced in sports medicine and have treated many players of the Vietnam national team.

In the final of the AFF Cup 2024, the Vietnamese team won 5-3 against Thailand after two matches to win the championship. This is the third time in history that the Vietnamese team has won this tournament after 2008 and 2018.

Not only is it an impressive achievement for Vietnamese football, the AFF Cup 2024 championship also brings the Vietnamese team a large bonus. Accordingly, Duy Manh and his teammates in the Vietnamese team received a bonus of more than 40 billion VND after winning the AFF Cup 2024. In addition, the Vietnamese team was also awarded the First Class Labor Medal by the President. Specifically, with an impressive performance in the Vietnam national team jersey at the AFF Cup 2024, striker Nguyen Xuan Son was awarded 100 million VND by a fan after the match at Viet Tri Stadium, Phu Tho; was awarded 10,000 USD by Agribank, equivalent to more than 250 million VND as the player who scored the most goals in the Vietnam national team jersey at the tournament. Artist Viet Huong donated 80 million VND to treat his injury.

Two days after the surgery to treat the injury in Hanoi, Nguyen Xuan Son continued to receive large bonuses from fans. Of which, Zestech Vietnam donated 200 million VND in cash. The joint venture between Geleximco Group and Chery Group donated a Jaecoo J7 PHEV, this model is currently priced at about 900 million VND on the market.
