Xuan Son's sister revealed her brother's condition, from Brazil to tell her sister-in-law 1 thing

In the second leg of the AFF Cup 2024 final between Vietnam and Thailand on the evening of January 5, player Nguyen Xuan Son suffered a very serious injury and had to leave the field at the beginning of the match.

He was taken to a hospital in Thailand, and on the afternoon of January 6, Xuan Son and his teammates boarded a plane to return home.

Immediately after getting off at the airport, he was taken directly by ambulance to the V Sports Medicine Center (abbreviation) for surgery.

When she learned that her brother was injured, Ranyelle - Xuan Son's sister, who lives in Brazil, shared that the family knew that her brother was injured in the final in Thailand and had to be hospitalized while his teammates were playing. When they heard the news, everyone was worried.

"Even though we are far away, my family and I always watch and cheer for Xuan Son. We are very worried, hope she recovers soon.

We prayed, hoped that she and her teammates had a great match and achieved the best result. And today, our wish as well as that of Vietnamese fans has come true. I would like to congratulate the Vietnamese team as well as Xuan Son's fans," Ranyelle shared.

According to Xuan Son's sister, in football, injuries can happen at any time. She hopes that her younger brother will be strong to overcome, recover soon and play well.

Ranyelle shared, Xuan Son often calls to visit her parents and family whenever she has free time.

However, due to the time difference and work characteristics, she and her brother have not had much time to talk together. However, on every special occasion, she always sends messages and encourages her brother from afar.

Most recently, in July 2024, Xuan Son took his wife and children to Brazil to visit his family. They stayed in their hometown for about 1 month before returning to Vietnam.

Meeting her brother again, Ranyelle was very happy and felt reassured because Xuan Son always had Marcelle. Ranyelle's sharing is like a message to her brother-in-law and reminds her sister-in-law to take care of her husband. The male player also shared with his sister and family members interesting stories and memories in Vietnam.

"We haven't had the opportunity to set foot in Vietnam yet, but Xuan Son has told us a lot about the life, scenery, culture and friendliness of the people here. She also emphasized that Vietnam is a great place to live and looks forward to having the opportunity to bring the whole family to visit her second homeland," Ranyelle shared.

Xuan Son's sister also revealed that during her visit to her family, the 27-year-old striker was very happy to enjoy the dishes her mother cooked.

"Xuan Son likes to eat dishes cooked by his mother and also local traditional dishes such as galinha caipira (soup with free-range chicken); arroz de cuxá (rice cooked with vegetables and cashews, served with a special soy sauce). She eats a lot but always pays attention to stay in shape to ensure her health and fitness," Ranyelle added.

Meanwhile, from his hospital bed, Xuan Son still watched the final match through the phone that his wife handed over.

When his teammates lifted the championship trophy, this player posted a status line thanking fans for caring about his health on his personal page: "Thank you for the messages. I will come back strong."

Previously, during his time playing for Vegalta Sendai Club in Japan's J.League, Xuan Son was injured in a training session and had to miss playing for many months.
