Moreover, as a maid, the character Trang must meet very strict requirements. Trang can speak three languages: Korean, English and Vietnamese. She must be slim, neat and tidy. She also has to know how to cook all kinds of dishes in the sky and sea to meet the needs of her fastidious mother-in-law. Only going to the market, Ms. Trang also drives a luxury Mercedes.

I think even if I am in real life, with a master's degree, it is unlikely that I can get a job as a maid like in the movie because I can't meet the requirements."

But again and again, having mixed feedback about her role as a maid is inevitable, because Vietnamese women in Korean movies are often portrayed poorly and negatively. Talking about this, Nguyen Thi Huong assessed:

"The image of Vietnamese women in Korean films is reflected in the eyes of the majority of Koreans. But this number is not the majority, does not represent the majority of Vietnamese in Korea..."

Talking about her career, she said: "The first movie I acted in was a KBS drama, 125 episodes long, aired for 3 years. I played the role of an educated Vietnamese bride who graduated from university. She met her husband in a tour guide.

When she went to Korea to marry her husband, she took care of her husband's family and business shop alone. Thanks to her, the new husband was determined to do business, and his life gradually became prosperous.

The second role in Chocolate, is also a Vietnamese bride who met her husband at Ben Thanh market, dated before getting married. As for the role of the maid this time, from the time I received the script to the filming and airing, I never thought that this is a lowly character."

"When I first came to Korea, I was not married, so I had a lot of free time. I joined a cultural group and often went to Vietnamese traditional dances to promote Vietnamese culture. During a concert, I heard about the radio. KBS needs to recruit a bride from Southeast Asia, I think this is a valuable opportunity, so I decided to participate in the audition.

I have to compete with more than 100 people, many nationalities like Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, China... I don't even think I have a chance to take on the role. In the end, they chose me after three rounds of auditions, because fortunately I met all the requirements the crew needed, from my age to the ability to speak Korean," she said.
