Singer Nguyen Loc: Depressed and left showbiz, volunteered to watch the Ancestral Church for Hoai Linh

Nguyen Loc became famous during the city's light music era in the early 90s. In addition to singing, he also wrote music and translated Vietnamese lyrics of many foreign songs. He once wished to look after Hoai Linh's ancestral temple.

Rich family

Singer Nguyen Loc's father is of Northern origin. He joined the French resistance force but failed. He fled to the Kingdom of Cambodia in the 1940s. Thanks to his soccer skills, he was recruited to join the Cambodian national soccer team. In all times, a National player is always respected.

His mother is originally from Tan Chau - An Giang, but since childhood she has lived in the country of temples and towers. His father and mother married and gave birth to 8 or 9 children. Nguyen Loc was born in Nam Vang in 1962. At this time, his father stopped playing football and switched to the fish business.

Strangely enough, since he was born, his parents' careers have progressed. His family is considered wealthy, with cars and large houses. That's why Nguyen Loc is loved by his father more than the rest of his brothers.

Every time his father went to collect money or make transactions, he would take Nguyen Loc with him in a new luxury car. According to Nguyen Loc, from a young age he showed his singing instinct. At the wedding, even though he was only 7 or 8 years old, he confidently stepped on stage and sang very well. This made his father very proud.

In the 1970s, Nguyen Loc's family left Cambodia to reside in District 8, Saigon. Nguyen Loc spent his childhood here.

During this period, he developed many talents at the same time such as sports, singing, and drawing. Therefore, he participated in all American literary movements. He did very flamboyant wall newspaper work and ran track and field, winning the citywide championship. In the art movement, he is also very famous.

Adventure in foreign lands

When he finished high school, Nguyen Loc took the entrance exam to a sports university. After graduating, he returned to District 8 to contribute to the sports and arts movement. Then he registered as a youth volunteer at Dak Nong farm.

Nguyen Loc recalls: "At that time, Dak Nong still had few people. The forests and mountains were vast. Although economic life was difficult, the nature was extremely beautiful.

The trees are green. The grass is as smooth as velvet when the wind blows and floats like water waves.

For a person with a romantic soul like me, even though I live far from the city, being immersed in such beautiful scenery is happiness."

According to Nguyen Loc, at Dak Nong farm, he was assigned to be in charge of fine arts. As a leader, he helps the farm take the lead in sports and entertainment festivals in the industry.

His contributions are recognized and appreciated. He could have stuck with the youth volunteer environment longer, but one day he had the opportunity to go to the Soviet Union to study interior decoration.

During this time, Nguyen Loc had a golden opportunity to embark on the singing path. On weekends, he sings for a Vietnamese restaurant. This job gives him the opportunity to satisfy his passion for singing and earn income.

During his time in the Soviet Union, Nguyen Loc had beautiful and peaceful days. There were times when he took the train thousands of kilometers away to see beautiful landscapes and museums.

He also took advantage of many opportunities to see musicals or world stars such as Michael Jackson and the group Modern Talking perform.

Rejected singer Phuong Thanh the first time they met

One day, he received news that his mother was sick so he returned to visit. When his mother's health recovered, he returned to Russia and brought with him some money borrowed from his aunt.

This money helps him trade two-way goods from Vietnam to and from the Soviet Union. The business helped him accumulate a large amount of money.

Nguyen Loc recalled: "In early 1990, the Berlin statue collapsed. Many Vietnamese people tried to stay, but because my mother's health was not good, I decided to return to Vietnam. With the accumulated money, I paid off the debt and Divide equally among all family members.

Taking a break for a while, I participated in performing arts at Hoa Binh Theater. I founded the singing group "Night Stars". We were starting to assert our position when a prominent member had his own plans, so I looked for a replacement.

One fine day, my sworn sister brought a petite girl to introduce herself to me. Her name is Phuong Thanh."

According to Nguyen Loc, the first time he met Phuong Thanh, he refused. About half a month later, another friend brought another girl to introduce him. It's Phuong Thanh again. Nguyen Loc accepted. He still holds the role of composer and group leader. But since then, Night Star has dominated every stage.

In the early 1990s, the name Nguyen Loc became famous with the music group Sao Night. But Phuong Thanh wanted to develop solo, so a few years later she split from the group. Nguyen Loc found a new factor in Phuong Thuy, Sao Night continued to be famous and even more expensive than before.

Depression

Along with popularity, Nguyen Loc earns a lot of money. But he has a generous personality and is willing to share with his family, so he doesn't have any extra. As much as you can make, that's how much you spend.

Seeing Nguyen Loc sing forever without accumulating anything, Phuong Thanh suggested he buy a house. Phuong Thanh lent him some and he contributed the rest from money to sing. Thanks to that, he has a roof to protect him from the sun and rain.

Nearly 15 years ago, Nguyen Loc's mother passed away. When he was young, his parents loved him a lot, so he loved them very much. He cannot accept this loss. He fell into a state of depression and despair.

Right when Nguyen Loc was deadlocked, Hoai Linh appeared. He encouraged Nguyen Loc a lot, making him calm down. Finally, Nguyen Loc returned to live permanently in Hoai Linh's house. At this time, Hoai Linh had not yet built the ancestral temple.

He still sings regularly. But over time, Nguyen Loc found himself losing motivation. Singing is a passion for him, but when he stands on stage, he feels very sad. So he wanted to find a place to forget. Suddenly he wanted to return to his birthplace - Nam Vang.

Here, many childhood memories come back to life. All the familiar images in my memories came back clearly. He left Cambodia when he was 8 years old. During that time, he did not speak Orange but for some reason at that time he spoke fluently.

And here, he met and became brothers with a successful business couple of Vietnamese origin.

Staying in Nam Vang for a while, Nguyen Loc missed Saigon. He returned. It's sad that he fell into a deadlock

Just when Nguyen Loc wanted to destroy him, his brother in Nam Vang heard the news. He invited Nguyen Loc to help take care of the factory sewing processed goods for export to France.

One day, Hoai Linh texted to confide in her longing for the old feeling. After the performance, the brothers came home to gather. So Nguyen Loc returned to Saigon. He said: "I know Hoai Linh's wish to build a temple to worship Ancestors more than ten years ago. At that time, Linh went to a place of worship but they only allowed famous artists in. Hoai Linh told me, she would Build a church for all artists and the public to enter.

I returned just as the temple broke ground, so I volunteered to take care of it. Hoai Linh is very smart, so he asked if he was sure because he doesn't like to force anyone."
