MC Van Anh: The golden face who hosted VTV News for 20 years, now "hangs up the sword" and quits the job

The 7pm news is one of the most familiar TV shows to small screen audiences. Through it, many generations of presenters have left their personal images in the hearts of the audience.

Among them, MC Van Anh left the most impression and affection. The female MC born in 1975 is one of the 4 "pillar" MCs of the 7pm News for 20 years, along with veteran names: MC Quang Minh, Hoai Anh and Diep Anh.

At the end of 2016, BTV Van Anh said goodbye to her job of more than 2 decades, leaving many regrets for the audience and colleagues. Accordingly, BTV Van Anh's husband is Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Thach, who used to hold the position of Deputy Director of Viet Duc Hospital and was awarded a certificate of merit by the Minister of Health in November 2015. During his career, BTV Van Anh's husband was honored by the Vietnamese medical community as a person with "golden hands" in the field of spinal surgery, and was a pioneer in establishing the Spinal Surgery Department of Viet Duc Hospital. With his talent, he helped Vietnam become one of the first countries to apply advanced spinal and disc herniation surgery techniques with many innovations to increase treatment effectiveness.

He also trained many generations of excellent doctors, contributing to building the hospital into the leading spinal surgery center in Vietnam. With that dedication, he has many noble achievements.

Notably, Van Anh's husband is 21 years older than her. Despite the big age difference, in terms of talent and achievements in their careers, they are well-matched and become each other's solid family support.

After many years of marriage, the former VTV editor and her husband have two sons who inherit their parents' intelligence and talent. Editor Van Anh said that since getting married, she rarely had meals with her husband and children because her work at VTV was quite busy. However, Van Anh always tries to take care of and do the best for her small family.

Also because of fear of affecting her life, BTV Van Anh limits showing pictures or telling family stories to avoid noise. She once said that the age gap between husband and wife is not important, most of all, both of them always accompany, sympathize, and share pressure with each other so that the family always has a lot of laughter. She once compared that in every family, women are no different from air conditioners. When the air is hot and stuffy, it must be cooled and vice versa, when there are signs of cold, it must be made warmer.

Many people believe that it is the ingenuity and "goodness in both national affairs and family affairs" of this famous former editor that made Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Thach love and respect his wife even more.

Since stopping her work at the TV station, Van Anh has had more time to spend with her family, raising her two sons and helping her husband feel more secure in developing his career. Many people say that after years of passion, Van Anh sacrificed for her family and decided to leave VTV. When she left her job of two decades, she confided: "I also discussed this matter with him very carefully and when I decided to quit, he was very happy and even said: From now on, every day the children will have their mother at home, when I come home from work, my wife will pick me up and I will no longer have to wait until my wife is dizzy waiting for dinner".

It is known that the two sons of Editor Van Anh and Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Thach, Thach Anh and Thach Lam, both inherited the intelligent, studious, and artistic genes of their parents. In 2018, the "mother of two" was proud when her eldest son Thach Anh went to Malaysia to participate in The World Scholar's Cup, a major international academic competition that helps young talents around the world to interact, study, and exchange culture.

While Thach Anh has a tendency to develop research, the youngest Thach Lam is good at painting. Previously, BTV Van Anh shared that she has been passionate about drawing since she was a child, although she did not dream of becoming a painter, she once wanted to open her own gallery. In addition, she is very skillful, likes to make handmade gifts for friends and relatives.

In a 2016 post, BTV Van Anh said that although the couple is very busy, the family has never forgotten their children and spends time helping them develop. From her personal page, viewers can see many moments when she and her husband take their two sons to experience and travel to explore everywhere.

According to Van Anh, that is the door that opens a new world to their children in the most intuitive way. Since their children were young, the couple has not hesitated to take them on trips abroad. They always try to spend time with their children and come up with reasonable methods to raise their sons to become active, talented and well-mannered young men.
