Meanwhile, film industry sources confirmed that the reason the Maleficent star was ignored was because of her tumultuous divorce from Brad Pitt.

However, another source refuted the argument that Brad Pitt influenced the Oscar boycott of Angelina: "The divorce is done. It's true that politics has a little influence on films and performances.
