Angelina Jolie was "blind" before divorcing Brad Pitt, trying to find herself again?

After completing the divorce procedure with actor Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie constantly appeared at major events. Most recently, she was present at the Golden Globe Awards. In addition, the actress also shared her shock, admitting that the "light was dim" after the breakup.

In an interview on Times Radio, Angelina Jolie said that playing the role of Maria Callas has made her look deep inside and face hidden emotions.

"As an artist, you go through many different stages of your life, sometimes you wonder if a certain part of you has closed.

You question yourself, whether your light is still bright, if you have anything left to give, or if you really know yourself anymore. This role has motivated me to rediscover things that I have never tried," Jolie shared emotionally.

Angelina went on to share: "Being pushed out of my comfort zone at this point in my life, doing something that scares me and I'm not sure I can do it – it's the greatest gift an artist can receive."

Earlier, at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards red carpet in Beverly Hilton, Los Angeles, Angelina shared that the role of Maria was a big challenge in her career.

"Not being able to play Maria Callas and disappoint the people who love her is really a big fear for me. But it is that fear that makes life interesting. We live to face things that worry us, to let our hearts bea.t harder, and to try things that have never been certain," Angelina admitted. The star of The Tourist strongly affirmed: "This is the decade I spent doing things that scared me."

Angelina - who has 6 children including Maddox (23 years old), Pax (21 years old), Zahara (19 years old), Shiloh (18 years old) and twins Vivienne and Knox (16 years old) - also can't hide her pride as they are growing more and more mature and talented. "I feel very lucky to have intelligent, strong, and independent individuals in my home. I love the way they grow up every day," she shared.

Angelina Jolie revealed that she used to feel "the light in me being overshadowed" in the past. This sharing came shortly after the 49-year-old actress officially ended her 8-year legal battle to finalize her divorce from Brad Pitt.

At this year's Golden Globes, Angelina Jolie was nominated for "Best Actress in a Drama" for her role as opera artist Maria Callas in the biopic Maria. She competes in the category with veteran colleagues Nicole Kidman, Tilda Swinton, Kate Winslet, and Fernanda Torres.

After years of facing legal troubles, Angelina recently reached a final agreement in her divorce from Brad Pitt - 8 years since she filed on the grounds of "irreconcilable differences". The Gir.l, Interrupted star said she felt "exhausted" but also "relieved" that she had finally closed "a part" of her family's healing journey.

Her lawyer, James Simon, told PEOPLE magazine: "More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt. She and her children left all of their common possessions, and from then on she focused on finding peace and healing for her family.
