Runner-up Truong Qui Minh Nhan discovered a tumor, had to be fed, and had a fever in the middle of the night.

In 2023, Truong Qui Minh Nhan won the title of runner-up of the Miss Grand Vietnam contest. After that, she registered to participate in Miss Universe Vietnam 2025 but unfortunately stopped in the top 5.

She is an English teacher and bilingual MC with IELTS 8.0 certificate, graduated from the Faculty of International Business majoring in Foreign Trade.

Minh Nhan has won many awards such as Second Prize for Individual Competition in the City-level Competition of the 2022 Danang City English Olympic Competition, Best Young Writer Award in the City-level Competition of the 2022 Danang City English Olympic Competition, Third Prize for Faculty-level Scientific Research at the University of Economics - Danang University 2022.

Recently, the beauty born in 2001 caused concern when she revealed that she had a tumor in her spinal canal outside her spinal cord, causing her to lose sleep and not be able to sleep like a normal person. Minh Nhan's back and left leg were even numb.

She said: "Up until now, I have been very confident about my physical strength, believing that I will never have health problems. However, when I entered the Cosmo Camp journey with a tight schedule and challenges, interviews until 2-3 am, there were times when I felt like I was about to collapse, so I really looked forward to the time when I could go back to my room and sleep on a soft bed.

However, when I really wanted to rest, my body wouldn't allow it. At 2-3 am, I would wake up unconsciously. At that time, I was quite worried about my health, despite the advice to go to the doctor. When the final stage came, my body became even more alarmed. If before, when I woke up, I could sleep by turning a few directions, now I had to sleep sitting up. The feeling of discomfort increased day by day. My back running down to my calves was very numb and uncomfortable."

She then returned to Hue for a check-up and was ordered to undergo some tests. Runner-up Minh Nhan discovered a tumor in her spinal canal outside her spinal cord, causing numbness in her back and entire left leg. After a 6-hour surgery, the beauty born in 2001 gradually recovered.

"You can see that it covers the entire spinal canal and it presses on all the nerves. The reason why I have numbness in almost my entire left leg as well as my back is because it presses on all the nerves here. And I was assigned to have surgery, required to be hospitalized and prepared for the surgery day.

However, the pain became more and more persistent and I couldn’t sleep for a whole week in the hospital. One day, when I was alone in the hospital, I decided to wander around and explore by myself to forget the pain. Until the day before the surgery, the main doctor in charge of my surgery came to encourage me and told me that like other surgeries, they only guarantee 80-90% success. If it wasn’t successful, I could be paralyzed and it was uncertain whether my tumor was benign or not.

After undergoing a 6-hour surgery and staying in the recovery room for 24 hours, I was pushed down to the room below. Luckily, I was able to eat. However, I could only lie down and had to be fed by someone, I couldn't eat by myself. During that week, I could only lie down and couldn't sit. When I tried to sit, I was also very dizzy. During the day, I was very alert and happy, but at night I had a fever. And it felt like someone was hitting me on the head with a hammer. I went for an MRI and a biopsy, and luckily it was a benign tumor," she shared.

The Gen Z beauty once admitted to having undergone cosmetic surgery to achieve her current appearance. The 2nd runner-up of Miss Grand Vietnam 2023 had breast augmentation, nose reshaping, thigh liposuction, and facial fat grafting. She shared her opinion: "No matter what a woman is, as long as she is confident and loves herself, she is the most complete version of herself."

When asked if participating in Miss Universe Vietnam was a trade-off for "giving up" the title of Miss Grand Vietnam runner-up, Minh Nhan explained: "I did not give up the title of runner-up, I always cherish what I have achieved. In any job, attitude must come before qualifications.

That title is the result of my efforts and recognition from the judges. I always keep it in mind and will never let it go. It's just that at different times, we will have different goals and directions. I also have fear, but if not now, when?"
