3 Tet 2025 movies 'riding each other's necks, Tran Thanh's throne is 'threatened'?

In the context of the Tet movie race with many formidable competitors, Tran Thanh admitted that his film this year - "The Four Guardians" - is not as "heavyweight" as "Mai" and may lose in terms of revenue.

Meanwhile, the remaining hundred-billion-dollar names are trying their best with their own promotional "tricks" to attract the attention of the audience. The three Vietnamese films released on the occasion of Tet At Ty 2025 are all associated with hundred-billion-dollar names. Love by mistake best friend has Kaity Nguyen as the main character, directed by Nguyen Quang Dung and Diep The Vinh; Nu hon bac bien has Thu Trang as director and a secondary main and supporting role; finally, the film Bo tu bao thu by Tran Thanh has many prominent faces in the showbiz world recently.

However, the differences in this year's Tet film season compared to 2024 and previous years show that Tran Thanh's throne may be threatened. Joining the Tet film race since 2021, Tran Thanh has owned 3 films that all earned over 400 billion VND, totaling over 1,400 billion VND.

The 3 films have many things in common, implicitly creating Tran Thanh's familiar style: Family films or romantic films with family elements, full of elements of joy, anger, love, and hate. The intention is to make the audience experience many levels of emotions and then end with understanding and gratitude.

Experts have commented that Tran Thanh has improved, learned to control the details that some audiences call "nonsense comedy", the level of noise and excitement, most clearly seen in Mai.

Critic Le Hong Lam once wrote in a quick review post after watching Mai: "Better than Tran Thanh's previous two films in a more complete way, although not as entertaining. A film that still follows the same stereotypes, but because the way it is told is so real and realistic, it touches the majority."

Mai also broke the record as the first Vietnamese film to earn over 500 billion VND, continuing Tran Thanh's record of higher revenue from each film than the previous one. Many audiences understand that Tran Thanh's next work will continue to push the clima.x, doing a better job with the highs and lows.

With the new film's name being The Four Guardians - all initial attention was focused on the boisterous quartet played by Tran Thanh, Le Giang, Uyen An and Le Duong Bao Lam.
