Xuan Huong - who wrote many popular comedy works is also the one who wrote about her dark marriage with her ex-husband - MC Thanh Bach through many parts. She quipped, lashed out, but her tone was full of pity.
Around October 2019, artist Xuan Huong made the audience pay attention when she continuously wrote 10 chapters of "memoirs" on her personal Facebook to "denounce" her ex-husband, MC Thanh Bach. At that time, there were many hidden corners, stories in married life, divorce, how her husband's family treated her and MC Thanh Bach had her own relationships... are all shared by artist Xuan Huong on social networks.
After the incident passed, the two no longer mentioned each other's names. The current life of the female artist makes the public curious!
Who is artist Xuan Huong?
MC Thanh Bach's ex-wife had a poor childhood, lacking her father's affection. When she was born, her father moved north, so the artist had to stay with her aunt and uncle.
Talking about those days, artist Xuan Huong said: "My aunt and uncle were very harsh. In all the years I spent with my aunt, she never hugged me once, never had a sweet word to my "orphaned" grandchild.
Xuan Huong's father is artist Bich Lam. He was the first principal of the II School of Dramatic Arts, now the HCMC University of Theatre and Cinema.
Sharing on Laborers about her father, artist Xuan Huong said: "When my father got off the train to go to the North, I was still in the womb. It wasn't until I was 14 that I met my first three times in a few short days and then broke the news. It wasn't until 1975 that my family was reunited."
She added: "My father is the director of Bich Lam. Most of the plays my father made were about patriotic forefathers. In particular, the most impressive is the play To Hien Thanh trial of Minh To troupe, which took place around 1984. This show caused a fever in Saigon for a long time.
When I was younger, I never thought I would pursue this career because my father criticized me for being bad and not suitable for the stage.
He also told me, "You look in the mirror and look at your beauty to see if you can follow this profession. You look at Miss Qingye, Miss Diamond. People are beautiful and talented to play spears and digs. How can I follow the profession. I gave up my dream of acting, found another profession and studied and then did.
But if you love this profession too much, do as much as you can. Sometimes when you are 60 years old, when your talent is revealed, people still invite you to act."
But I also told him, "You're not beautiful, but you're charming." Although I didn't think I would be able to follow the profession, I still managed to learn. I entered the general film studio to study.
My major at that time was a sound specialist for films. I specialize in recording sound, music, dialogue for movies.
But my passion for acting is still strong and cannot be hidden. Every time a class has an activity or movement, I always volunteer to be the writer, director and actor. My forte is satirical comedy.
I did it all myself, but I didn't dare tell my dad for fear of being told, just did it silently. But one time my dad went to a meeting to meet some theater leaders and heard them compliment me. However, my father did not immediately return home. He never complimented me because he didn't want me to be complacent.
My father instructed me that, if you want to follow a career, you should continue your studies and enter the directing class. Before the exam, Dad also went to the teachers and suggested: "If you see that he is competent, you will pass it, otherwise, just let me fail. Don't put it in for my sake.
So when I entered the exam, I was marked very harshly, spinning like crickets. But I don't fit, whoever asks which question answers that instinctively and correctly. After that, I was sent to study abroad in Russia.
In Russia, I studied variety directing with the main tendency to satirical comedy.
Back home, my dad said, "With your beauty, it's right to choose comedy." Just like that, I do comedy."
Exposing his marriage of more than 20 years with ex-husband Thanh Bach
While studying at HCMC School of Dramatic Arts, Xuan Huong was a classmate of Thanh Bach. In 1978, the school offered two scholarships to study directing in the Soviet Union, both of which were chosen. However, after that, there was only one place left and Qingbai was dispatched.
In 1979, artist Xuan Huong was also allowed to study in the Soviet Union. She and Thanh Bach studied together at the USSR State University. As 3rd year students, the two officially fell in love and got married.
Upon returning to Vietnam, Thanh Bach - Xuan Huong participated in staging and acting in many major theater shows, most notably the series "People who like to joke".
However, in 2006, this marriage suddenly broke up in the regret of fans.
"Post" divorce, the couple refrained from mentioning each other but at times still could not avoid the unfortunate tension when sharing the cause of the breakdown despite living together for nearly two decades. A few years ago, Xuan Huong caused a stir when he revealed one of the reasons why he and Thanh Bach could not live together because he repeatedly behaved chaotically with his in-laws and acted brutally with his wife. The artist even said directly whether Thanh Bach married her or whomever she was, just to make a "screen" as he himself admitted to her.
Artist Xuan Huong did not hesitate to say that she chose to remain silent for 20 years while still living in a "homosexual" marriage and also 10 years later when she "escaped the death sentence" to step out of this marriage.
According to Xuan Huong's account, the original Thanh Bai in her eyes was a soft-spoken, polite, romantic person with a fragile soul that was as fragile as crystal.
Looking back on her marriage to Thanh Bai, Xuan Huong said that it was because "the blue sky hated the rosy cheeks" so she "played a prank" for her to marry him. After getting married, she retired to a solid rear, taking care of the kitchen and children so that he could wholeheartedly continue to pursue his artistic career.
However, after the divorce, she felt very comfortable. She shared: "Currently, I still act at Hoang Thai Thanh Stage and write satirical articles for Tuoi Tre Laugh newspaper. Those jobs are just enough to make me happy and find life more meaningful."
Once a famous name near and far with the comedy show "People who like to joke", but after many events of life, artist Xuan Huong chose for herself a more peaceful path in the late afternoon. She said that although she has little theatrical activity, writing a newspaper is also a way for her to voice her opinion about life and existence in society: "It makes me feel like I am still useful to society," the artist laughs.
She is also not afraid to share her current life without constraints, take care of herself and take care of herself more. She chooses to watch movies, read books, cook, travel, meet friends...
