However, until now, the official cause of deat.h has not been determined for Hackman and his wife, Arakawa. The sheriff added that it is currently unclear which of the two Hackmans died first. The police are still re-pairing the timeline.

The latest update on the investigation into the incident of Gene Hackman and one of their three dogs states that the two were found dead in their home in New Mexico at around 1:45 p.m. local time on Wednesday.
