On her personal Facebook page, Miss Vietnam 2024 contestant Vo Thi Thanh Binh posted a post with the content "sincerely apologize" after a clip of her dancing in front of Thai Hoa Palace, causing outrage among netizens.

Earlier that morning, the female contestant posted a short clip of her dancing in front of the Thai Hoa Palace inside the Hue Imperial City. In the clip, the young girl wears a modernized ao dai, performing dance moves and knocking glasses in front of the court, with the majestic Thai Hoa Palace behind her. The performance prop is a small table placed right in the middle of the court.

After the clip was posted, the online community was in an uproar when many people expressed their unacceptable views on the image of a girl dancing and climbing on a tea table in front of the Thai Hoa Palace - the place where the throne is located and also the symbol of supreme power of the Nguyen Dynasty.

Hue culture researcher Tran Dai Vinh said that as a Hue native, he did not object to the dance clip in front of Thai Hoa Palace. In response to the reactions of the online community, Vo Thi Thanh Binh removed the above clip from her personal Facebook page and posted an apology.

During the training and preparation for the competition, I tried my best but could not avoid confusion and shortcomings. This cannot justify my mistakes and I take full responsibility for my actions, " wrote Vo Thi Thanh Binh.

Binh also said that this mistake was a valuable lesson for her to reflect on and learn from. She promised to be more careful in all her actions and statements, always aware of her responsibility to the culture and community. The final night of Miss Vietnam 2024 will take place at the stage on the Perfume River, near the National University Square, Thuan Hoa District, Hue City on June 12. However, the Miss Vietnam 2024 Organizing Committee announced the postponement of the final night scheduled for the evening of June 14 due to bad weather.

"With the criteria of putting the quality of the contest as the top priority, the organizing committee decided to adjust the time of the Miss Vietnam final night to ensure the organization goes smoothly and adapt to actual weather conditions," the organizing committee said. This unit has not yet made a final decision on the date of the final night.
