Vingroup recently made the next legal move in the US, continuing to sue a social network account holder for allegedly spreading false information, negatively affecting the reputation and image of the business.
Specifically, this group has filed a lawsuit against the owner of the Facebook account Hien Nguyen (Yen Sao Yen Dan) with 409,000 followers to the California Superior Court in Los Angeles (USA).
According to the content of the application, the owner of the Facebook account Hien Nguyen was accused of defamation and unfair competition when repeatedly posting false information about Vingroup, including spreading rumors that nearly 5,000 employees of the group quit their jobs at the same time due to concerns about the safety of electric vehicles. Vingroup believes that these articles not only affect the reputation but are also used to attract followers and serve this individual's bird's nest business.
Immediately after the information that Vingroup's lawsuit had reached the California Superior Court, account owner Hien Nguyen deleted all content posted about the group.
The group requested the court to issue a ruling to force Hien Nguyen to stop the act of posting falsely and compensate for damages.
Previously, Vingroup also said that it had filed a lawsuit against the owner of the social network account Phil Dong to the Toronto High Court in Canada and was accepted. The group added that in addition to a small number of account holders such as Phuong Ngo, Hoang Dung... More information needs to be collected, most of which are already close to completing pre-litigation procedures to be submitted to local courts in the countries where the account holders are residing.
On September 9, Vingroup announced that it had sued 68 domestic and foreign organizations and individuals for spreading false information related to the corporation and its leaders on social media platforms.
The fabricated information revolves around 4 main content groups, including the group's financial situation; VinFast cars are Chinese products "disguised" as Vietnamese goods; information on Vingroup's personnel and leaders and other contents related to product legality, policy issues.
Vingroup is also working with domestic and international lawyers to initiate lawsuits in accordance with the laws of the relevant countries. At the same time, Vingroup sent notices to foreign embassies in Vietnam and Vietnamese embassies in countries where citizens who are infringing account holders are residing in order to protect the legitimate interests of businesses.
According to Vingroup, in addition to suing overseas collective individuals, the group will also send notices to foreign embassies in Vietnam and Vietnamese embassies in countries where citizens are "violating account holders" residing.
This move can be understood as official announcements, placing the case within the framework of international relations, not just individual-business disputes. This notice also publicly distinguishes conflicts and disputes within the scope of the enterprise's activities, not related to other fields such as politics, diplomacy as well as the relationship between Vietnam and the countries whose citizens violate.
Also related to this lawsuit, the YouTube channel Minh Giang - Face TV recently had a livestream commenting on the case. The owner of this channel said that this is the first lawsuit Vingroup has filed in the US, which can pave the way for many other lawsuits with individuals and organizations spreading false news on social networks.
Previously, Ms. Nguyen Phuong Hang also caused a stir when she suddenly hinted at billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong. In a speech, she even challenged Mr. Vuong to sue her in an international court, making a deal to confront each other without a lawyer. These statements immediately created a wave of fierce debate on social networks. However, after Vingroup officially announced legal action related to 1 account in the US, Ms. Hang suddenly fell silent.
