Tuan Nghia is a familiar face to TV audiences when he owns a lot of awards from music competitions: First prize of the program Love Songs 2019, First prize of Vocal Battle Floor 2019, Third prize Listen to me sing 2019. After 2 years of interruption by the epidemic, having just returned, Tuan Nghia was crowned the 2022 Love Storyteller Champion.

"When I was invited to join the Love Storyteller, I nodded immediately. Because after 2 years of the epidemic, my name is going down, I have to let the audience know that I'm still singing and not giving up. If I win many awards, I still play the game show without paying much attention to the prize or anything," said Tuan Nghia.

However, not everyone knows, behind the achievements that Tuan Nghia has continuously achieved in the past 3 years, he used to have a difficult journey when it comes to music. The male singer, originally from Hanoi, said: "Tuan Nghia is my stage name, which is also my real name. From the time I was in kindergarten to my elementary, middle and high school years, I was always on the team. However, my family oriented me to the diplomatic profession, so from grade 1 to grade 12, I studied bilingual, specializing in French.

When I took the university entrance exam, I was also "assigned" by my family to take the French Bachelor's exam at the Diplomatic School. After finishing my first year, I still feel that I like singing more. So, I dropped out of the Diplomatic School and entered the Central School of Art Education. While I was studying for the exam, my parents still hadn't given up. Parents want to have someone in the family who is a police officer or follows politics to glorify the family and let the house have a "pillar" behind, not afraid of bullying.

So, while I was studying for the Central Art Pedagogical School exam, my parents invested me in having an eye surgery to take the entrance exam to the Security Academy. I was close to 2 degrees back then. I finished the application, went for a health check. One week to the exam day, I found out, two schools took the exam on the same day. I surreptitiously dropped out of the security school to take the Central Art Pedagogy exam and passed. My parents were very angry, resolutely opposed, not allowing me to pursue singing career.

My teacher came to my house to play and talk to my mother. Thanks to that conversation, my parents later agreed to let me study Central Art Pedagogy. While studying in the first year at the Central Art Pedagogy, I thought about taking the Conservatory Exam because of the teacher's saying "you sing like this, but why don't you take the conservatory exam". So, after studying Pedagogy for 1 year, the next year, I took the entrance exam to the Intermediate Conservatory of Music. I passed the first valedictorian and took the class of Mr. Trong Tan.

After studying for 3 years, Mr. Trong Tan quit teaching, so I studied for the exam to pass the level to university. Ms. Thu Lan, the dean of the department, praised my good French, so she wanted me to study abroad in France. Therefore, I was assigned to the class of People's Artist Trung Kien. However, for some reason, I could not study abroad in France. As a student, I was taught at singer My Linh's school. After I graduated, My Linh took me up to be the leader of the vocal group, managing all the vocal content in the school. I taught until March 2017 then quit and 2 years later, ie in 2019, Nam advanced" - Tuan Nghia recounted his arduous career.

2017 was a year of many events for Tuan Nghia, which started with a long scar on his left cheek. This scar is unfortunate, but it is also the charm that led Tuan Nghia to turn to another path, the path to becoming a professional singer and Nam advancing to establish a career. Tuan Nghia confided: "The scar on my cheek was cut by a young man while he was high on drugs. That day, I had just returned home, was about to open the door, when he rushed to slash. He cut his head but when There, I was wearing a helmet, so the blade slid down my cheek. The cut was too deep, the doctor had to sew 3 layers, 136 stitches so I wouldn't have a keloid scar."

My life, dream of being a singer, standing on stage, only face and voice. The two most important things were destroyed, so at that time I thought about growing my hair long to cover the scar. That year, when I quit teaching at singer My Linh's school, I was introduced to Ho Chi Minh City by Ms. Linh to play the game show Little familiar faces. Thanks to that, I got to know Mr. Dang Hong Thai who is the director of this program.

Tuan Nghia then decided to move to Ho Chi Minh City to pursue a career. Here, he rented a house, moved motorbikes in, rented clothes, accessories, mixed music... that was, he did everything himself to prepare for filming the first 6 episodes, when the incident happened again until the management board. The director of the company had an internal conflict, so Tuan Nghia packed up and went back to Hanoi.

In 2018, Tuan Nghia participated in the program "Excellent duet", he was accepted into the singer Dam Vinh Hung's team. However, unfortunately, Tuan Nghia was not able to enter the deep top. The reason given was because there was no one in the team that matched Tuan Nghia's voice to be able to duet with him.

He said: "On my birthday that year, Mr. Dam Vinh Hung held a show in Hanoi and invited me as a guest singer. That night, on stage, Mr. Hung gave me a birthday cake and said to my parents: "the family let Nghia go to Saigon, I will take care of everything for Nghia".

After that day, Tuan Nghia officially went south. At the beginning of 2019, Tuan Nghia continued to be called to participate in the Powerful Band contest and was lucky to enter the top 5. During his career, Tuan Nghia said he was very grateful to Dam Vinh Hung: "Mr. Dang Hong Thai, after I was a contestant in a program he produced and won an award, he invited me to be a guest in other programs.

My life just kept going. At first, I just thought I was 3 months, then 6 months and now 3 years. After the Power Band competition, I won the first prize of the singer of love songs, the first prize of the vocal battle floor, the third prize of Listen to me sing. If 2017 was an unlucky year for me, 2019 was quite a successful year for me. 3 years in Saigon with 2 years of hiatus due to Covid but I was able to buy a house, even though I am still paying in installments. That's something I'm very proud of," said Tuan Nghia.

After 3 years of pursuing a singing career in Ho Chi Minh City, Tuan Nghia brought himself a number of titles, his name was also promoted to an audience. After two years of the epidemic, all musical activities were halted, and he felt that his name was gradually being lost. However, thanks to possessing a terrible voice and well-trained, Tuan Nghia is currently a name that has received a lot of attention and love from the audience.
