As a freelance actress, she is of Chinese origin, this young gir.l began to be widely known through a viral casting video on TikTok - simply sitting eating in front of the hospital room but touching the hearts of millions of people.
And now, Quyen Hua continues to make her mark as a film actress when she participates in the film project Vong tay nang by director Ly Hai.
Quyen Hua is not a face that comes from formal acting schools. She came to the profession with instinct and personal experience, with very ordinary collisions - that partly creates a simple, genuine acting style that easily touches the audience's emotions. Not carrying the baggage of a professional actor, but this young gir.l possesses a kind of "honest" emotion, making the person opposite her empathize right from the first moments. And it is that honesty that has become a special weapo.n that helps her stand out among countless new faces on social networks.
The video that brought Quyen Huaâs name closer to the public was a short clip recording the scene of her sitting alone eating in front of the hospital room. There was no dialogue, no special effects, no music to guide emotions â just the image of a young gir.l trying to swallow each bite of rice in a state of choking emotion. What moved the audience was not the beautiful images or the complicated story, but the very real, familiar emotions that any of us could have encountered somewhere in life.
Behind that scene is a personal story full of emotions. According to Quyen Hua, the scene was inspired by a painfu.l memory - when her relative was hospitalized, she sat outside the hospital corridor for hours without eating or drinking. When she was so hungry, she went to buy a lunch box, but while eating, she cried because she was so stressed. That feeling was engraved in her mind, so when she decided to film a casting video, she chose to recreate that very experience. With red eyes, trembling hands holding chopsticks, and a choked, wordless expression, Quyen Hua fully conveyed a silent pai.n, making it impossible for viewers to look away.
The video quickly went viral on social media platforms, especially TikTok, attracting millions of views and thousands of sympathetic comments. Many people commented that they saw themselves in that scene â people who used to worry about their loved ones in the hospital, who used to eat a quick meal in anxiety, who used to silently endure emotions without being able to share them with anyone. Since then, Quyen Hua has not only been known as an "internet star", but also recognized as an emotional storyteller â a true potential in the art of acting.
The video was not only the first turning point that opened up opportunities for Quyen Hua to enter the film industry, but also a testament to the fact that genuine emotions always have the power to overcome all technical or reputational barriers.
When asked about the inspiration for the video that made her name suddenly "explode" on social networks, Quyen Hua did not hesitate to share: "I was inspired by my own experiences and those of my relatives. Once my family member was hospitalized, I sat outside waiting all day, not eating or drinking anything because I was so worried. When I was starving, I bought a lunch box to eat temporarily, but while eating I cried, each bite of rice seemed to be stuck in my throat. That feeling was really haunting, both hungry and helpless, I could only sit and wait in silence."
From that emotional experience, she realized that many people out there had been in the same situation â sitting quietly outside the hospital room, holding in their unspoken worries. "I thought if I could recreate that moment in the simplest way, without dialogue, without elaborate scripts, just a sincere expression, maybe I could touch someone else's emotions," she added.
The virality of the video not only made Quyen Hua an "internet phenomenon" but also opened the door to cinema for her. After watching this video, the production crew of the film Vong Tay Nang contacted her to invite her to participate in the official casting.
"After the live casting, I waited for the results for two weeks without any response. By the end of the third week, I was so sad that I decided to go out for a walk to relax. At that moment, I received a call informing me that I had been selected. I still remember very clearly that at that time, everyone around me was taking a lunch break, and I couldn't control my emotions and shouted excitedly. Maybe I bothered others, but that joy was really too great," Quyen Hua emotionally recalled.
Although she only played a small role in Vong Tay Nang, for Quyen Hua, it was a valuable opportunity. She expressed her deep gratitude to director Ly Hai and producer Minh Ha for trusting her and giving her the opportunity to participate in a professional film project, which featured many veteran artists such as Meritorious Artist Huu Chau, Meritorious Artist Chieu Xuan, Meritorious Artist Tuyet Thu, artists Ngan Quynh, Quach Ngoc Tuyen...
To prepare for her first role, Quyen Hua spent time participating in many rehearsals with other actors under the direct guidance of director Ly Hai. She focused on practicing her emotions, how to handle dialogue, and how to express herself subtly through her eyes and gestures. "I really appreciate every word of advice and guidance from the director. Even though it's a small role, I still want to perform well and hope that the audience will remember me through this character," she shared sincerely.
Not resting on the laurels of her viral clip or first role, Quyen Hua is continuing her journey of learning, cultivating and perfecting her acting skills. She is not afraid to attend professional acting training classes, actively seeks out audition opportunities, learns from her seniors in the profession and from her daily practical experiences.
She said: "I always keep in mind that I am still a newbie, there is still much to learn. Passion is not enough, you have to be serious about your career, constantly learn and practice to be able to go far. I hope to have the opportunity to participate in more quality projects, creating products with depth, close to the audience."
For Quyen Hua, this is not just a simple role but also the first stepping stone to bring her closer to professional cinema. Her participation, despite being in a small role, is still noticed because of her emotional and determined journey to the film.
