EXO's main male dancer is tired of not being able to perform.

In a recent interview with Esquire Korea, EXO member Kai talked about his love of music, performance, and self-awareness. When discussing how musicians and artists have not been able to perform publicly for the past two years, Kai said how he has also been affected by the pandemic.

"I used to think that the greatest happiness in being a singer was just singing songs. But that's not so. The greatest happiness of a singer is to sing for someone. I have realized the importance of being a singer. there's someone there.

When I release a song, I can see how many people have heard it. But there's a whole different joy when I'm on stage. When I'm on stage singing and dancing and seeing the crowd sing along to my songs, I really have fun in that."

The male idol continued to express how difficult it was for him when he couldn't perform in front of the audience, "If there was no joy in performing on stage, it was really difficult. Last year was probably the most difficult time. the busiest year of my life, but even during that hectic period, I felt bored.

I'm not motivated and I feel like I'm boring, not having fun. It's because I can't stand on stage. Now because I can hold online concerts and see the reactions of fans, I have been able to partially satisfy my desire to stand on stage."

Over the past year, despite his busy schedule, Kai explained that he's thought a lot about going through a difficult time, "Usually, even when I'm busy, I don't think about it. How difficult it is for you.

But there was a time when I sat on the sofa and thought: Why is this so difficult for me and I found that I had to compromise with reality. I have really high standards for performance but there is a limit to the amount of energy and time I can devote to it.

I realized that it was because of greed that I was not happy. If I want to be happy, I have to get rid of that greed. After making those compromises, things got a little better.

The same goes for when you're in a good mood. So think of our happy days. Those good memories are more special, they last longer."
