Tiktoker Thuy Tien is known as the owner of the Tik Tok channel "Drawing to tell stories" with tens of millions of likes from the audience thanks to her unique talent of telling historical stories through drawing.
Pham Thi Thuy Tien was born in 1990 in Dong Nai, known as the owner of the Tik Tok channel "Drawing to tell stories". After two years of development, her TikTok channel now has more than one million followers and nearly 30 million likes thanks to drawing videos of famous characters combined with historical stories and mystical anecdotes.
In 2021, when the Covid-19 epidemic was in a tense period, the girl from Dong Nai was stuck in the countryside to avoid the epidemic. Having to receive information every day about the number of deaths and infected cases, while her father, despite his old age, still participates in fighting the epidemic makes her worried and lose sleep. Fearing that she would no longer have the opportunity to chat and meet relatives and friends, Thuy Tien decided to create this Tik Tok channel.
It is known that Thuy Tien wants her TikTok channel to preserve her beautiful memories and convey some useful values to the community. Those thoughts brought her mind back to her childhood years.
Thuy Tien also said: "I have had a talent for painting since I was young, but I didn't have enough time to pursue my passion. However, I always trained myself and could draw. When I created the Tik Tok channel, I decided to draw and paint at the same time." Telling and introducing unique Vietnamese historical and folklore stories. Therefore, I named the channel "Drawing tells stories".
Because she loves history and likes to watch historical movies or folk legends, Thuy Tien wants to use paintings to tell stories. From her drawing, she came up with a way to convey it through video, adding a voiceover and then posting it on her personal page. Not only that, Thuy Tien has edited and created clips while drawing and telling stories about real historical figures or legends in folk culture. She also prioritizes topics related to the status of women in feudal times.
To have accurate documents and diverse information, Thuy Tien looks for documents from official sources or sends information to people knowledgeable about authenticated history. After having the plot, she edited it according to her writing style. Besides, she often integrates profound life lessons into the stories told in the videos. This is also her way to help viewers recall childhood memories if it is a folk tale or fairy tale or learn more about the country's history if the characters and story are real.
Normally, Thuy Tien takes 5-6 hours to complete a video, depending on the difficulty of the painting as well as how much material there is about the historical figure. Every week she publishes 3-4 clips even though she often has to do it in the evenings or on weekends. One day it was time to go to bed but an idea suddenly flashed in her head, Tien jumped up and stayed up until morning to complete it. When caught up in work, this girl can fast all day.
However, there was a time when Thuy Tien had a professional accident. Two years ago, due to a mistake in a historical detail in the clip she produced, the female tiktoker was fiercely attacked by viewers. Previously, Thuy Tien had heard her father read about Vietnamese history through a poem. Because she loved it so much, she drew and told stories in a two-minute clip from the reign of Hung King to the last emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty. It took her 5 days to fully complete the painting with kings of many eras on the background of a large dragon. Although the content was sent to a friend who knows history for verification, due to editing errors, it still faced criticism when published.
At that time, Thuy Tien cried a lot because she was not mentally prepared to receive negative comments. However, later, when she calmed down and realized her mistake, she edited the poem and then filmed a clip with verified information. Besides, she also realized the lesson for herself: "If you stumble somewhere in life, you have to get up there."
Not only does she introduce unique historical stories and folk legends, every year during Tet, Thuy Tien often goes to Ong Do Street at the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Cultural House to write. Thuy Tien said: "I think that calligraphy paintings usually only have words and are monotonous, so I painted and decorated them with floral motifs to make the calligraphy more vivid. At the same time, I also partly satisfied my passion. draw".
Currently, Thuy Tien is still planning to carry out a painting project to give to those in difficult lives to help them have a comfortable spirit and love life more.
