In 2020, the Cyprus Nationality Law amended and supplemented Article 113, related to the revocation of nationality of those applying for citizenship in Cyprus under the investment program.

In 2020, they reformed and made it harder, more severe. It’s not just based on whether the person has been convicted within 5 years of receiving citizenship. But the amendment makes it harder to apply to anyone who breaks the law or is sentenced to prison within 10 years. This is exactly what Hang is applying to.

This article makes a foreign conviction equivalent to a conviction in Cyprus. This leads to a conviction in Cyprus. Ms. Hang was convicted under article 331, which relates to the violation of personal rights and interests.
