The Wanted band member writes will... at ag.e 36, almost dies of cardiac arrest

Recently, a member of the band The Wanted 2.0 was hospitalized due to a heart condition, he was in a life-threatening condition. He even wrote a will even though he had just turned 36.

Max George, who recently reorganized the bo.y band into the duo The Wanted 2.0 with bandmate Siva Kaneswaran, shared in late December that he had a pacemaker fitted following surgery. In a January 11 interview with The Sun, the singer revealed details of his health scare.

"The first night, I wrote my will because I thought I was going to di.e," he shared. Max George recalled that on December 11, after feeling unwell for a few days after returning from tour, the singer woke up with purple hands: "I was quite lethargic and didn't know why. I struggled to get out of bed but didn't think it was serious," he said.

When he went to his mother's house to rest, Max George's health condition worsened: "The next morning, I found my hands were blue, my arms were gray and cold. I even struggled to sit up," he said. Seeing this condition, the singer's mother immediately called the doctor. After being examined, he contacted another doctor friend, who advised Max George to be hospitalized for care.

"At that point, I was panicking and exhausted. I couldn't move my arms and my throat felt blocked, like someone was choking me," George said. "Thank God I was at my mother's house - she saved my life."

At the hospital, doctors discovered a serious problem in the lower part of his heart. Max George's heartbeat was irregular and signals were not traveling from the upper chambers of the heart to the lower chambers, requiring an emergency pacemaker: "I was in complete shoc.k. All sorts of thoughts were going through my head. I didn't expect this to happen at 36."

Max George's heart rate dropped to 26 beats per minute (compared to the normal range of 60-100). On December 13, his condition worsened, with both his heart rate and bloo.d pressure dropping. On December 15, the singer underwent a CT scan and three days later underwent surgery to install a pacemaker: "The surgery lasted about three hours and was horrible. I was awake but heavily sedated," he recalled.

Max George felt a sense of relief as his heart rate began to stabilise: "I started to feel the bloo.d trickling out and thought, 'Oh my gosh, I feel alive again'," he said. His partner, Maisie Smith, was there to support him: "She climbed into bed, put her head on mine, and we just held each other for a few hours, talking like normal. It was a very special moment."

In 2020, The Wanted are set to reunite to sing with Tom Parker. The 32-year-old singer was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy. "Max George, Nathan Sykes, Siva Kaneswaran and Jay McGuiness want the group back. Max came up with the idea. He hopes it will be a milestone to mark the group's past successes. The Wanted were great and they all loved being on stage together," the source said.

The Sun wrote: "For various reasons, some members have temporarily separated. But now, depending on how things develop, they will definitely sing together again." The Wanted is a 5-member British bo.y band, formed in 2009, officially debuted in July 2010. The group's manager is music producer Scooter Braun.

The group released two albums - The Wanted (2010) and Battleground (2011). Both were in the top 5 most listened albums in the UK.
