After tiktoker Hai Be was prosecuted for trafficking in counterfeit goods, information related to this family's low-quality products and goods was of more interest. Among them is Hai Be delicious syrup, which made many parents lament because they missed trust.
Recently, the information announced by VTV on the broadcast of the program "Good morning" has really ignited a wave of outrage in public opinion. Accordingly, Hai Be delicious syrup â a product that used to "make it rain" on social networking platforms â is made at a "cheap" cost of only 40 thousand VND/product, but is sold to the market at a price many times higher.
At the Investigation Agency, Le Van Hai â the "boss" behind the popular TikTok channel "Hai Sen Family" â declared a "huge" income of 300-400 million VND/month from trading counterfeit goods alone. More notably, the actual revenue of this line is estimated at hundreds of billions of VND per year, while the company's tax reports regularly show losses. The "terrible" discrepancy between actual revenue and tax reporting figures further strengthens the suspicion of profiteering and fraud of this subject.
This information makes consumers, especially parents, even more frustrated and extremely angry. A big question was asked and received widespread attention: How much profit has Hai Sen's family made from this low-quality counterfeit shipment business, is that "huge" profit built on the trust and health of thousands of children?
According to information from the authorities, Hai Be delicious syrup alone has been sold on the market with a quantity of up to 100,000 boxes from 2024 to now. The price at which this TikToker's family imports products from BIGFA Joint Stock Company is only 40 thousand VND/product.
Meanwhile, the retail price to the market is "sky-high". On the TikTok Shop cart of the Hai Sen family, this product has a list price of 160,000 VND (the promotional price is about 140,060 VND). On the haibe.vn website â the company's official website â Hai Be delicious syrup products have an even higher listed price, which is 200,000 VND (the promotional price is 160,000 VND). In particular, in his advertising clips, Le Van Hai is always "firm" about the selling price of 1 box of his 30-pack syrup of 160,000 VND, although he admits that this price will vary depending on the platform and promotions.
Based on these figures, if calculated according to the listed price from 160,000 to 200,000 VND/product, it is estimated that the owner of the TikTok channel "Hai Sen Family" may have earned about 16-20 billion VND just from the product "Hai Be delicious syrup". Meanwhile, with an import price of only 40 thousand VND/product, which is 4-5 times the original price, this TikToker family has pocketed a net profit of 12-16 billion VND, excluding other operating and advertising costs. This is a "terrible" profit figure generated from the sale of low-quality products, raising big questions about business ethics and responsibility to consumers.
The most outrageous thing is the actual quality of Hai Be delicious syrup. According to the authorities, important indicators such as Vitamin A, Calcium, Vitamin C are only less than 70% compared to the announcement. This means that the product that tens of thousands of families trust to improve the health of their children does not have the same effect as advertised, can even cause harm, and is officially identified as counterfeit according to Decree 98/2020 of the Government.
However, Le Van Hai and his family still constantly advertise "with wings", exaggerate the uses, and even use the image of their children to gain the trust of customers. This behavior shows deceit and irresponsibility, profiteering on the health of young children.
In the past half month, the information about fake syrups has made thousands of families confused and worried. Many parents have simultaneously thrown away the product and taken their children for a health check-up. The community's outrage poured on Le Van Hai, demanding that the law strictly handle those who defy ethics to profit from human health.
The authorities revealed that in addition to Hai Be Delicious Syrup, about 700,000 other products under the Hai Sen brand were also sold, showing that this is a potentially harmful large-scale counterfeit goods trading system. Before being prosecuted, Le Van Hai had "discarded evidence": two TikTok channels with millions of followers, a website and a product cart were all deleted. The incident is a strong warning about advertising on social networks and the control role of the authorities, in order to protect public health from counterfeit goods.
